Even though Hwak and Marcus have same perspective and ideals. Their partners had a rule in thier relationship failing/successeding. Tim is worset person to fall in love for Hawk. He is clingy, emotional and trusting. He wouldn't have been able to change Hwak. Frankie is more realistic and more independent, I believe that help this Marcus to feel safe to open-up.
