I mentioned the birthday calendar earlier and I think I'll give it a shot.
I started with January but of course I should've started with August. I'll do that next. I'll do more than one a month, so chronology will not work here anyway. Would've been nice but then it would take too long and the longer a private project like this runs, the chances of finishing it diminishes.
This may seem a quite straight forward pinup by the way, but it really isn't. I had a test calendar made with quickly gathered paintings to see if the quality was satisfactory (which certainly was the case) and it's mounted too, but in hindsight the images are a bit too wild for something that my (and your) visitors may get to see involuntarily.
So, I have to moderate myself without losing me. That takes sketches, more rendered stuff, thoughts and more thoughts. This one will probably make the cut. But it's still early. It might not. Apart from the image itself, the series of twelve, thirteen if the cover counts, would have to fit together in good (not perfect) harmony, in my mind at least. Not just random images but a real seasonal s3xy series. I have to wait and see if this will fit well enough in with the rest, still to be made.
You might say that I could just paint something that fits this one naturally but that limits the possibilities too much. I have to use the month, or the respective season, as inspiration, create something new and not be restricted by a previous image. That's the most fun and that makes for the best results.
To be continued.
