Update for May 2021

Hey guys, once again thanks for your support. Last year was pretty terrible for me (well, it was pretty terrible for _everyone_.)  You're probably wondering why there hasn't been a comic updated in over a month, and that's because I really lucked out and got a swell new job. I can't say for how long it will last (it's contract-based) but it's put me in a better position than I've been for a long, long time.

The problem is it's working on a new product that's going to be rolled out very soon and it's required me to work on it every available hour I have.  This week I've already clocked in 36 working hours in just three days where on one of those I spent five of those hours driving up to my local VA Clinic to get my second vaccine shot; so that should give you some idea how much free time I just don't have at the moment.

This is also the time of year that Yostar drops in a child version of their established shipgirls.  Last year it was Little Renown followed by Little Illustrious (their events spaced like a week out) so I had to wonder if they had another such character lined up and I had assumed it would have been Little Enterprise.  Little Renown and Illustrious are one thing, but had a Little Enterprise showed up in the game, I assumed my readers would have expected her to show up in Akagi^2.  Such a character would have been incredibly disruptive to the ongoing story, but then it dawned on me that there's a perfect companion for her with BB Kaga. It all fit right in, and my story was disrupted in the least.  Enhanced it, really.  Then it turned out that Little Enterprise wasn't set for release, but we all know that her arrival is inevitable. 

Amagi-chan, though, I wasn't prepared for her. She _really_ took some thought on how to incorporate into the story, and know that she will (how could I possibly ignore Amagi-chan?)  This was a smart decision on Yostar's part because the Western fanbase adores Amagi and Amagi-chan is a money printer, plain and simple.  She does create a challenge for me because Amagi is one of those characters you use carefully and sparingly, and now there's two of her. 

Anyway, I'm still working on the comic and hopefully I will be able to return to a regular schedule as soon as possible. I should have a new comic out this weekend.
