The time Tapp got real

This is gonna get sappy, but I really want to say this.

Like with the magnificent people that helped me test SBDTV, I can't thank you patrons enough.

When I opened this page on Dec. 12, 2020, I knew it wasn't going to take off despite my hopes to the contrary. The world was (and still is) freaking insane and I was (and still am) pretty obscure. I was hoping at best two people would become polygons. Honestly, though, I expected the page to sit at 0 for months. I realized, later, I announced this page at a not-so-great time: December (during economic free fall, in the midst of a pandemic) and at the end of a very hard demo. I'm still making peace with that fact.

Let me to be genuine with you...I know I don't have much to offer, and games are few and far between. HOWEVER, you (yes you) chose to send your doubloons my way despite the struggles and chaos in the world. Words cannot fully express how grateful I am, especially these days. That's a sacrifice you're making, no matter how big or small! You heard it here first: I don't take your belief/support for granted; it means a lot as a new developer. I try my best to keep things honest, upbeat, fun and generally cheerful when I post progress reports, so I'll be honest here: From one human being to another, I've been struggling a lot.

Getting through this project wasn't fun at times. There were times where things looked incredibly bleak, and it can be a brutally lonely process; this goes doubly when you know the people around you can and will be judgmental about the true nature of your content. On top of this worldwide debacle, and things I'd rather not mention in detail, it has been difficult.

Whether you've been supporting from the beginning by commenting on my posts and telling me what you think with positive (and/or critical) feedback or supporting me financially now, even just chatting with me now and then, it has made this grueling process and dumpster fire of a year a bit easier. I hope in some way my stuff has made you excited and put a smile on your face...or put a smile in other places during these times (insert Lenny face here)

I'll say this too: If I must fully cease production for any reason, if I can help it I won't leave without saying goodbye. As long as it's possible/viable, I'll keep experimenting and making content; I hope you'll be here for all of it! Whatever it may be!
