Tax Changes
Added 2020-05-27 10:52:46 +0000 UTCStarting July 1st 2020, Patreon will begin charging patrons sales tax in 18 countries. This is because Patreon is now mandated by law to do so.
You should receive an email soon detailing how this will affect you if at all. If you are in Europe then you are already paying VAT and you will not notice any difference.
Patreon expects that this might affect approx 30% of patrons :(
It's not all bad news though. There are some things that I can do to optimise my rewards tiers and benefits to minimise sales tax as not all rewards are taxable. I am currently making changes to the reward tiers so you feel this as little as possible.
