Why no Futanari (Futa)?

First let me say I fully support inclusivity, non-binary gender and player choice.

I originally wanted to let you choose to play as a hetero male, lesbian or futanari (chicks with dicks).
Futa is massive in hentai and I really wanted to represent it here.

It would be easy enough to enable the Character System to slap a dong on a female character and the Sex Puppet System would allow me to animate unlimited H scenes irrespective of gender.

I eventually made the hard choice to keep the player as hetero male for a few reasons.

• Adding multiple genders would drastically blow out the scope of the game.
• A core part of the narrative is you are male and ill suited to hunting monster girls.
• Writing and programming dialogue would be a crippling task.

The first two can be overcome, but the real problem is the dialogue.

Writing natural dialogue between characters that can be fun, lewd and even a little bit believable whilst supporting multiple languages is easily the hardest part of this project.

As you have seen there is already a ton of complexity with animations, wording, NPC responses, variables, etc. for a male player.

A non-male player would speak differently than a male player and the monster girls would respond differently also.  

The tools I am using are just not up to a task of that size.   

On top of that a core part of the story is you are a poor fighter and, as a male, you're a poor choice for a monster girl hunter.  A huge part of the narrative and player's arc is to overcome these limitations in an unorthodox way.

I know some of you will be disappointed about this, but believe me I looked at this from many different angles before deciding I couldn't pull it off.

It's not all bad news, though.  Monster Girl Tailes will feature a lesbian  and a bisexual character with motivations and quests that suit their specific needs.
