Birthday Planning Whirlwind

Finally, I can breathe. Kind of. ;)

Last week just about kicked my ass. I have learned that planning is not my calling in life, nor is being sneaky. Keeping all these surprises from JD for his birthday was no easy task for a girl who likes to leave all things out in the open. Taking phone calls in another room, having to keep my phone turned face down with the passcode on, and making sure he was at the office half the time I needed to run home with certain items felt so odd and uncomfortable. I knew it would all be worth it in the end, and it totally was. I had been coordinating with his brothers and Linda to surprise him at a birthday dinner. They pretended to be in Toronto so JD wouldn't know they were coming to Vegas. As we arrived to the restaurant, I called to check in and found out that his parents also flew into town (from Canada) to surprise him. Aside from them, Kristen Leanne and Ryan Morgan successfully surprised him by coming in from San Diego. Needless to say, the dinner was a success. 

Once dinner was over, JD went home to change and I headed back to the party house to finish setting up. I put out the 6-ft Subway Sammy,  and the custom He-Man and The Masters of The Universe themed doughnuts that Donut Bar LV made. We posted up pictures around the house of him with various friends and family members and set up the pinata and mariachi party goods that were sent by Alina (patreon.com/alina_roche). After that, we all changed into our cotumes - the 16-year-old versions of ourselves! Holy moly. That was a blast. I kinda miss how I used to dress. lol. JD arrived a bit later and then the real letting loose began. It was difficult for either of us to relax the first couple hours because we were busy mingling with all the guests, but once it started thinning out we had a shot of berry vodka and the fun began. :)

All in all, the night was amazing. Almost everything went as planned and most importantly, his loved ones were there. <3

We slept in Monday, then started shooting around 3. Unfortunately, most of my wardrobe didn't arrive in time, so I didn't have much to shoot. We did get 4 months of JD's calendar shot, so that was good as it was the primary focus. I suppose I'll have to schedule out another "me" day for shooting when we get back in town from our next trip this month. ;)
