Archangel really just be stat checking the matriarch, I do wonder how this will be resolved. Can't wait to see the developments!

I could go on if I had the time, but I hope it doesn't get the "villain of the week" treatment.

2024-12-08 13:26:26 +0000 UTCI think it will end up being a similar situation except for the ending: The stronger one (Beast and Archangel) fight without skills and have the advantage. Weaker ones (Agarus and Matriarch), can't deal with their enemies with their regular skills so they use their GS. Vs the GS of the weaker enemy, the stronger ones no longer can afford to held back their skills. The Beast used a single skill and one shot Agarus. The Archangel can't use his skills so he's cooked xD

2024-12-08 13:17:00 +0000 UTCI think the Beast/Agarus fight is a nice comparison. "Wow! [The Great Agarus] pushes back [The Beast]! Crushing one head after the other, he's totally dominating! ... Oh, never mind." The Archangel pokes the matriarch a bit in a way that looks impressive, but how much damage does it do to her when she's hurled around? Sally did more damage than the Archangel. After all, that damage didn't heal instantly.

I'm desperate to see Salvos saving the day after Rachel's, Clayton's and Edithe's plans all failed so catastrophically! I mean among the known characters that can likely hurt the matriarch, most are both otherwise occupied AND likely to make everything worse! I always expected/hoped Salvos would defeat the matriarch after a long educational battle but you managed to fool me twice into thinking "Well, this might actually be resolved without Salvos. She misses out on the XP, but it's better for everyone if the situation is resolved sooner." But well, Clayton/Rachel/Sally didn't lead the matriarch away and Edithe... stumbled into a problem and a fool instead of a solution!

Any responsible parent would give them a wall to bang their head against until their ego is back within even remotely acceptable levels. Honestly, I feel like the matriarch is on top, since she is more open to growth and more focused on winning. I fully expect her to show a skill that endangers Edithe soon! Salvos needs to swoop in and break the tie. The question is only what side she'll be on, the companion-possessing egomaniac or the companion-endangering beast? In any case, the Archangel needs to have his ego broken or he won't be able to even reach Soli. Or will he be a joke character that keeps rushing into fights that are far beyond them only for Salvos to drag him out by the scruff of the neck and have her clones deal with his shit?
