Those are recent numbers that apply to the women's national team every 4 years, not their club teams. Nobody can even name their local women's club team and they don't have anywhere near the same TV deals that the MLS has. I can honestly say I've never even accidentally stumbled upon a televised women's game on any sporting program until the world cup comes around. It's not some conspiracy, it's basic economics of supply and demand.
Our women's national team is usually the best in the world and a few years back they got absolutely destroyed by our men's U-15 team. 14yr old boys...

When the suit was filed for equal pay for womenβs soccer, they were generating more revenue than the menβs team but making about 38% of what the menβs salaries were. They were winning World cups, generating more $ intake, had higher viewership on TV (around 20% higher), and still had to win a lawsuit to get equal pay.
Iβm not sure womenβs soccer belongs in this argument. The WNBA however, absolutely does.
