Have you picked up on me having a real preference for the beauty and the beast theme? If not, you've probably not been here for long. Stick around and you'll find out. Werewolves, demons and all that are such a good contrast to the female elegance. And it doesn't even need to be wilder than this. As long as the wildness is obvious enough and the elegance elegant enough. I blame my heavy metal roots. I was influenced by pretty aggressive album covers from when they were still large enough and were telling ominous stories about mayhem and havoc in fantasy and distorted reality. I painted several in those days. CD covers did end it for a large part already, as 12 cm large images really aren't that impressive, regardless of what is depicted and how good it looks. With the streaming services it didn't get any better, but I must admit it's convenient that you can make playlists that can play for as long as you want. However, I'd not mind if there were a market for Album Cover Art.

Whenever I am playing my music (like Megadeth, Volbeat, Disturbed, Testament) and I have the time or can make some, paintings like this happen. Often. I consider it practice. It's not popular on regular social media for whatever reason but that does not matter at all. I can try out new approaches that will help me later in commissions, whether it's about composition, color or detail, expression, anatomic construction or mood.
