The reason Rudy thought Sylphie was a boy, is because she used the MASCULINE form of I (i.e Boku), so it's an honest mistake rly, especially since the feminine suffix part of the name was cut off by the background stuff. leaving only "Sylph", which could be gender neutral since Sylphs are a type of Wind Spirit/Fairy, obviously
