Run BTS - Episode 58

Comments

Cooking is really just practice. If you have never been taught or lack confidence, it is hard, but not the end. Like any skill it can be learned.

Queensthief

My comment was not to DT but to the rude comments towards tae above. I see why it can be confusing though, I meant to post it as a reply to that person but posted here accidentally.

bangtanhaja

He never meant it in a bad way. Not everyone is good at everything. Why are u so pressed

It's only one comment that came out in a rude way. I don't think that the person have seen many RUN bts ep. We all know - V and RM - are the two weekest card in the kitchen, and they know it themself too. But the show is, as you said, ment to be a fun show and none of the boys are excluded because of lack of skills. The deeper mening behind the show is to learn the value of teamwork, and I agree with you, that they all have their moments to shine. It depends of the challenge and their different skills to resolve it.

I give up!!! You are all right and I am all wrong! You Win, I lose. You know better than me and I should just keep my opinions and observations to myself. I have no right to say anything disparaging about anyone on any matter anywhere even in jest. I will obey your commands, acquiesce to your superior knowledge and know how since you are all clearly better than me. NOT!!! Hahahahahahah.... Lighten up please, it's good for your soul.

Wayne Morrison

Also about the water being to salty! It wasn't, because Tae himself noticed before he started boiling the water, that it was to salty, and asked the chef what he should do about it, and the chef told him to put more water in. I wondered, why there wasn't a lid to put on

Hanne Hasager Nielsen

I have read all the commentary above, and to your information Wayne. When the chef asked Tae if he had cooked the pasta "al dente" on purpose, it actually was a compliment to him. He meant that it was perfectly cooked, because that's how pasta shall be done, whether you like it or not. But Tae didn't know if he meant it was good or bad, so RM told him "just say yes".

I would recommend watching the run episodes on VLive or Weverse as sometimes the sound is cut for a bit on youtube to prevent copyright. The sound and quality is also overall better on Vlive and Weverse as well. (the behind the scenes clips watch on youtube as you'd have to pay for them but you can watch the full episodes for free on Vlive or Weverse, it also supports the boys more)

Inflammatory? What are you talking about. I made one small critique of Tae not being able to cook and it is like I did some horrible thing. You know I'm a BTS fan too, but they are not infallible beings. It is okay to criticize them if they deserve it, which I thought Tae did. After all he is a grown man, not a babe in the woods. (that was also a pun) lol Chill

Wayne Morrison

Actually, I'm OT7, and love them all equally, for different reasons. I simply disagreed with you as I felt you were being overly harsh about Tae, which I thought seemed unfair. I think the one being a bit sensitive was you, as, like you, all I was doing was expressing my opinion as well. There's no need to take it so personally. Not sure how it got so inflammatory. o_o

Lux

Right? The comment above this one says they are beig "sarcastic" but it is just flat out rude

taesthetic_mots

Run BTS is a fun show and the members all have episodes they shine in as they all have different skill-sets. I don't understand why some comments are being mean, are you actually ARMY? Take your negativity somewhere else, please.

Beckyboo

In Asian society, when you were raised by grandparent. You usually get little spoiled by them. Just like in my case, I hate cooking. Because my grandparent wouldn't allowed me to do anything in the kitchen. Now that I'm an adult. Sometimes I wish I've learned some of the food my grandparent used to make. Oh well...there's always takeout!

Penny D Young

Jin and Suga's brother both own a restaurant. I went to Jin's brother's restaurant while I was in Seoul. You can check the restaurants out on YT.

You all are really being way too sensitive. I really was messing around with Tae here partly because he wasn't helping that much and was pouting. He would probably be the first to omit he doesn't have a clue about cooking. So me saying he should stay out of the kitchen is not really being rude or unpolite, perhaps a little sarcastic maybe, but mostly just brutally honest.

Wayne Morrison

“All he had to do was cook the pasta and he messed that up” “Tae doesn’t have a clue about cooking and should stay away from the kitchen” that sounds pretty insensitive to me. who are you to have a say in what tae does, it was a challenge and we all clearly know he’s not the “main cook” in bts. so those comments were kind of unnecessary lol. please be more nice, and if you don’t like tae just say it if that’s the case, thank you

Grace

I wasn't trying to be rude to anyone but to just respond to what the person had said. Everything I said is my own opinions and observations, and I have a right to them. I wasn't picking on anyone here and if you took that way I'm sorry.

Wayne Morrison

its good to see some good message here in a comment section

You are obviously a Tae fan, and I clearly hit a nerve with you. You know I was saying it partly in jest, but the truth is the chef did tell Tae to add more water because he had used too much salt, and too much salt can ruin any meal. Also the chef never said he actually liked the noodles cooked the way they were, but just that they were done al dente. As far as Jimin is concerned neither of us know what his exact motivation was for doing the bulk of the work, but what is clear is that Tae doesn't have a clue about cooking and should stay away from the kitchen.

Wayne Morrison

I dunno if I'd agree. While I agree Tae isn't one of the cooks in BTS, putting salt in the water does not constitute messing up - in fact, unless he put the entire container of salt in there, it is hard to overly salt the water - pasta water is meant to be salty - which is why the pasta is then drained. And despite al dente being undercooked to you, most chefs agree that al dente is the proper way to cook pasta - the chef here wasn't displeased, he was merely surprised that Tae managed, in HIS words, a "perfect al dente", as that is quite difficult to accomplish. Jimin wasn't doing everything to prevent Tae from being dangerous, Jimin noticed that Tae was blue because the event he had envisioned wasn't going the way he imagined it would, and Jimin was doing his best to raise his spirits. Also, in the Tae-Jimin soulmate bond, Tae tends to be the "submissive" one, letting Jimin be the bright flower and do what he wants, while Tae quietly and unwaveringly supports him. That is simply their dynamic - Jimin leads, Tae follows. That, of course, is not to say Tae doesn't also have his moments - but he generally, as of late, tends to be quiet and introspective.

It was endearing to see V losing confidence in the kitchen and jimin constantly complimenting him and encouraging him haha. They cook again in one of the recent episodes of Run BTS, and V says he started learning how to cook and did better:)

bangtanhaja

I have to say V is definitely not a cook. I mean all he had to do was cook the pasta and he messed that up, first by using too much salt and then by under cooking it (al dente is undercooked to me and to the chef I think). You can see why Jimin was willing to do everything else because he must already know that V is dangerous in the kitchen. :0

Wayne Morrison

Yes, DT my mouth was WATERING !!!. I am a pasta LOVER, anyway. Everything they cooked looked good. Thank you; enjoyed it.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🥰

Just some trivia since this is a cooking episode. Yoongi’s brother cooks well too. He used to work at a restaurant and now he has his own bakery/cafe. Jin also opened a Japanese restaurant with his brother. Jimin’s family used to own a cafe back in the days but it closed. Just last year, his dad opened a new one in their hometown, Busan. The name is MAGNATE and the media wrote about it. When Armys learned about it they excitedly shared photos and videos online. Later on it was revealed that Jimin’s dad doesn’t like people filming his cafe and uploading it on Youtube using Jimin’s or BTS’ name. So to armys planning to go to Korea and visit Jimin’s dad’s cafe, just enjoy the food and the ambience but remember not to film it and to upload it on YT.😊

luvpjm

V and RM most of the time only help with little things in the kitchen and cleaning

Dsenisse Valenzuela

The RUN BTS editors are indeed funny with the captions!

sugaisagenius

just wanted to let you know that if you watch from youtube, some of the audio will be cut so it doesn’t get copyrighted. that’s why we recommend vlive for earlier episodes and weverse for the later ones :)
