Bon Voyage Episode 3

These boys are such pranksters!

Bon Voyage Episode 3

Comments

Hi DT! 1st time subscribing to Patreon! Enjoying all your reaction vids hehe and yes I tried watching other groups and they are good as well but can't help comparing them to BTS. I also feel like I'm cheating on them hahahaha! ARMY for life :)

diane rivera

DT I feel the same way, have tried other kpop groups & even kdramas and they are good, but I always end up going back to BTS. I always compare and BTS always wins. I would much rather spend my free time with them.

roniv1425

The ferries from China to Hong Kong are also similar.

Minkeytalk

Vikings NEVER wore helmets with horns!

Joanne Smith

I am happy that I am descended from the Vikings

Joanne Smith

For me, its been roughly 10 years since i started listening to kpop, my first group being BigBang. I sort of fell off the train for a little while until mid-January this year when I just decided to finally watch some BTS. I had discovered them a couple years before from the FBE youtube channel. I did watch other groups alongside BigBang, like SHINee, Super Junior, 2PM; but nothing can compare to BTS for me now. I've watched their content religiously everyday since mid-January, even re-watching clips over and over. I can honestly tell you they are completely different from most other groups.

XivaTsuki(Elli)

I feel you in that one. I was a kpop fans for more than 10 years, even before BTS debut. So I used to stan a lot of different group. But since I got into BTS, I could never see the other group the same way again. Like you said, i couldn't help but comparing them with BTS. It's not that I don't think they're talented. But I don't feel the same sincerity and connection like with BTS. Not to mention, other groups lyrics seems so shallow now (not all of course). Because I'm used to BTS's poetic, meaningful and beautiful lyrics now, I always ask myself "what is the message? where's the art behind this song?" everytime I listen to other group. So yeah, I tried to give other group a chance, but it never click.

Fellyce

Fun fact: This was right after "Fire" era before they started getting proper recognition in Korea with "Blood, Sweat and Tears". They weren't really "ballin" with money at the time like they are now. They started off with almost nothing so I think being frugal was already quite natural for them. It's one of the reasons I respects BTS, they didn't have the big company budget and backing like the "Big 3" and their success was due to their hard work and talent.

bangtanhaja

I try to like other groups but I honestly don’t have the same connection with them as I do with bts.

namjoon

Yes when I lived in Canada on Vancouver Island the ferries were great 💜

Wendy Thomas

YES!! same feels. I have tried watching other groups but I never really got into them like there was no connection between them and i. I only feel this with BTS for various reasons. their music, personality and their imperfections. they're just THE group for me

lea

I love all Bon Voyage series too. Also, I heard this idea is from Bang-PD (their CEO) to help the boys become independent. That’s why they let them check-in on the airport themselves, look for their hotels, take the bus, shop for themselves, cook for themselves (which they always do btw, since their trainee days). Also, handle money by themselves. That’s why there’s this rule every BV that they should not spend their own money because the company had given them a budget every BV. That’s why V was always being scolded. Remember on episode 2 (i think) where he went to TGIF restaurant and used his own Visa card and the staff were about to call the manager and V asked him not to 😂? Anyway, I love that they taught the boys. I wish my parents did that to me. They babied me and not let me do things on my own like that. Now, I kinda still rely on them 😭

Aj

I live in Washington as well, the ferries are super nice. I didn' t even think to compare ferries but they are quite similar.

Gwen Krause

the only other group I can even enjoy anymore is MAMAMOO. And that's just flat out music. BTS is... yeah.

Tara Cheríe

There's no other groups that are similar or even come close to sounds like BTS. BTS are unique. Other might try to BUT.....

Penny D Young

The feeling is mutual. I'm only attach to BTS. You can call me a BTS stan not KPoP stan. Can't help but comparing evertime i tried to watch other groups.

nadzirah johari

i'm a Filipino, typically what happened when you see or talk to your family, relatives and close friends, instead of saying "how are you?" you will say "Have you eaten yet?".. ( that's other way of greeting them in a warm way too) i think food is part of the Asian culture

shimmer077

i think you can compliment BTS without insulting other groups. I haven't seen a single ego idol, and i have been into many groups (though BTS remains my ult, cause they're just special in my heart). Obviously there are some, but considering how many I like, and still haven't seen a single one, it's very slim to none. Idk what idol you mean, but that shouldn't shame other groups. I've seen many idols do the same things BTS have done (in regards to helping staff, charity work, humble speeches at concerts, and honestly it very much is a culture thing. Manners and humbleness has a lot to do with the culture). It's actually why i enjoy kpop, the groups have gone through similar things and there's rarely, if any, bad blood between groups. They respect each other a lot and care about the fans, actually interacting with them and connecting with them. That's why kpop is so popular, cause they break the barrier that's between fans and artists in the western world (though of course there are a handful of western artists that care about their fans). But anyways, it's your opinion if you think all the songs sound the same, but maybe you just haven't listened to b-sides or found the right group. In general, a lot of music sounds similar if you're not really trying to get into groups. And you don't have to, no one is forcing you, but for instances, Stray Kids sounds NOTHING like Astro....Ateez sounds NOTHING like Pentagon, Monsta X sounds NOTHING like Seventeen etc. It's very generalizing.

Angie

I thought I'd comment on some of the Korean in the episode since nobody else has :) 1.) 1, 2, 3 -- in Korea, it's 하나, 둘, 셋 (ha-na, dul, set) but often gets shortened + slurred into han, du, set / ha, du set :) 2.) "They call him Ray-mon? That's cool." - Kinda sounds like it to our ears, but what they're actually saying is 랩몬, which is "Rap-mon" a shortening of his old name (which he still used at this point). The only one who still calls him 랩몬 is JK, who calls him "랩몬형" (Rap-mon-hyung), which he slurs to make 랩모녕 (Rap-monyung), hyung of course being the affectionate term for 'older brother' / close male friend. I do like other k-pop groups, but I've only really been getting into them this year (over two years after I found BTS). I find with a lot of other groups I like the way they interact with each other more than their music. TXT is an exception, and if you want to watch something that includes both TXT and BTS (as they are 'brother groups') you can watch the BigHit Family Photoshoot behind the scenes on YouTube. It includes interviews with both BTS and TXT (and Lee Hyun, the other BigHit artist), and BTS talks about how happy they are to have TXT in the company now because they had been lonely before. (Since other companies often have company concerts and other company 'family' events, but BTS had never been able to have that before TXT.) I also like GOT7, who are friends with BTS (especially RM & Jackson, and Jungkook and Yugyeom / BamBam), and I really am liking EXO recently. (Even though some ARMY don't like to admit it, some BTS members and some EXO members ARE friends.) Thanks for your reaction! Can't wait for the next episode :)

Kymmie Dexter

I totally agree with you..I think the other kpop groups are talented and great at what they do but even though i enjoy other kpop songs, they usually sound very similar to each other..And lots of the time the reason lots of kpop songs sound similar is because most of the time there company does that..Ive also noticed lots of kpop groups have very simialr concepts to each other. When i mean concept i mean the way they dress for there music video, the sound/beat in there songs.Non of these things are bad but personally bc the other kpop groups are similar it doesn't make me as interested in them as bts does.Bts also does different styles of music and non of there concepts are the same. All there music videos are so different from one another and bc of that it made me interested in them and thats why i became there fan.I listen to other kpop groups but i dont know much about them, I only listen to the songs i like from them. Its kinda like I'm a fan of Ariana grande but I of course listen to other pop artist like billie ellish, taylor swift when I'm driving my car and so on. I listen to them and i like some of there music but I wouldn't call myself one of there fans.

KIKI

I never care for any KPOP groups because they all sound alike, dance alike and act alike. But BTS is totally different. Their sounds are unique, great dancers and their bonds are very special. They do not have ego like other groups. Most of the KPOP singer can wait to become solo artist. One particular singer claims he was sick that he can't go on promotion your with the group. Meanwhile he was promoting his own solo song and album.

Penny D Young

Also jungkook has made his own films before...There called GCFs and he films and edits the video and he posts it on bangtan tv..

KIKI

I do understand what you mean when you react to other kpop groups.I do it to when check out other groups..All the groups are so talented but Bts really set the bar really high..I’m only into 2 groups it’s Bts and twice...twice is a kpop girl group and I really respect them..I listen to other kpop groups but I’m not as much a fan of them as Bts..Like I don’t know much about the other kpop groups, I only listen to the songs I like from those groups and know some of there names..It’s totally understandable that you compare other groups to bts..Bts is the biggest boy group for a reason.I compare lots of artist to bts not only kpop so as I said I understand what you mean💜💜I hope you don’t feel pressured to get into other groups if your not into them..I think it’s fine to check other groups out but I hope you don’t feel pressured to do it...As I said all the kpop groups are really talented but as a Bts fan I see Bts on another level

KIKI

I am aware that Big Hit Entertainment and Big Hit Labels are not the same entities, but it's my opinion that there's an end goal to the label acquisitions other than to stand back and let them be. Usually when a business expands into "branches" more often than not, they will eventually overlap. I'm personally excited to see the possible interlaps between the groups and have faith that if they do, that it'll be done in a way where each group will remain true to their roots.

Luz Collado

They haven't done anything because Big Hit family is still BTS, Lee Hyun and TXT. Gfriend, Seventeen and Nu'est are not under Big Hit label. The labels these groups are signed to (source music, pledis, etc) have become subsidiaries of the Big Hit Entertainment which owns Big Hit Labels. I see some Bang PD and Adora credits in Gfriend's EP released this year, but seems like Big Hit label's main producers (pdogg, slow rabbit, supreme boi) won't take an active role in the subsidiary groups' albums. I think this might be better. I wouldn't want Big Hit Ent to turn into SM, JYP, YG which create similar sounds for all artists.

I do hear quite a few other groups music cause Ive been listening to Kpop since 1998. So its not a first time thing for me. Though I feel like if it was Id only be into BTS. Lmao. But anywho I do hear other groups but I only follow two. Like when they post on Twitter or doing lives on Vlive or their shows comeout on Vlive or the behind scenes on Weverse or anything they post on YouTube. Buy their albums and any DVDs they put out. The ONLY two groups I truly give two bleeps about is BTS and TXT. Lmao.

Nanon ApoBangpo⁷

Jimin called txt "the babies" in one of his most recent VLives. I thought it was the sweetest thing! It's going to be interesting to see what Big Hit is going to do with Seventeen and NU'EST now that they're part of the Big Hit family. They haven't really done much with GFriend, but I think they'll be more hands on with the boy bands. I guess we'll see.

Luz Collado

Hello!! New brazillian patreon here!! haha I think for me is impossible to love and support another kpop group as much as I do with BTS, but is ok for you to listen to their songs sometimes, I really like TXT, and they have such a especial bond with BTS that makes it even better, they're their little brothers. You should check some BTS and TXT interactions someday haha <3

Thaís Cardozo

Hi DT, I totally understand where you are coming from when you mention about just watching BTS content. I think like what most people have said here, they are loyal to the one and only and BTS themselves have so much online content, how is it possible to divert one's attention to another group. That being said, I did venture out a little, but out of curiosity and knowledge to see what else is interesting in K-pop world but under certain conditions. I only check other songs, groups or drama if it has connection to the boys. Meaning if any of the boys dance to, sing to or talk about their other K-pop counterparts in any of their Bangtan Bombs or they do covers, I will then listen to the original singers. That's how I venture out. K-dramas too. I started with Hwarang which V starred in and eventually watched those that has the boys' friends acting in them. Until today, I think the only other group I can watch a little bit more of is Got7.. and that's because, Jackson loves RM and JK is best friends with Yugyeom.. So, I choose based on connections to BTS..

Lenny Merlenna

the attachment to the boys is one of their biggest reasons why they're the most popular boy group to date. I've gotten into so so many other kpop groups and i love them as well even now, but the connection could never match or be up to par with how connected I feel to BTS. This is mainly becoz BTS feels this too and they share so so much of their lives with us as if it's a normal daily thing. They love us so much and the love and attachment is being reciprocated from both sides which makes this dynamic so much superior and stronger than others.

tina

I know other groups (EXO, GOT7, Winner, Seventeen, Mamamoo etc.) and solo artists (DEAN, Sunmi, Hyuna etc.) and I'm sort of a casual listener of them, but I don't stan them like I do BTS. No other act has captured me or touched me like BTS does their lyrics, music and personalities are just beautiful. The boys are more and just musicians to me, they are more than just K-pop, they are beyond that. I'm an ARMY and nothing more. So I only react to anything BTS related. I feel so happy and blessed to have BTS in my life, I love them all so much.

Line Henriksen

BTS is my family. I only listen to them when it comes to Kpop. If I listen to other groups I do feel that way.. I feel like I'm cheating, but the main reason for me not listening to other groups is because I don't like kpop in general, there may be a few exceptions but I just don't like the sound of other groups. BTS has their own sound and their songs are sung with such emotion that it just gives me chills, no matter what song Im listening to ♥ Also, yes. V likes to be alone. When you watch the episodes from them being in Sweden, there's a scene or two to back it up. V is loved by many people because he's easy to talk to and he's very social but only when he wants to or has to. Usually in Interviews etc, he is the quiet one as u may have noticed since you didn't really know much about him in the beginning and he didn't stand out. It was the same way for me when I started listening to them in August. My first bias was RM for like a month or so until I started looking for more videos about them in general like behind the scenes etc and when I first heard V's soulful voice, my jaw dropped and I knew I had to search him up specifically. He's been my bias ever since and he's captured my heart. I faceplanted to the ground and have just started digging my own V-hole xD It's too deep now and I can't get out, but it's fine, I love it down here :3

Vengenz

The truth is most ARMY are not into kpop and i hope yours are not another kpop channel, if you are branching out to other groups then you should open another channel and have this one dedicated to BTS, it works for most reactors when they did that way rather than having a kpop channel with BTS

SS

DT I know what you mean when you say watching other kpop groups feels like cheating or something. I've tried watching other videos myself but I am always comparing them to BTS. I've watched and still watching so much BTS content from Burn The Stage to Run and now this with you that I feel like I am in a long distance friendship with these guys even if they aren't talking with me directly. When I watch their older videos and music videos now I think about what happened during the shoots and how they acted and it makes me laugh. Honestly, it's weird now seeing them acting serious in their videos or on stage because I know their personalities and who they are now and seeing them joke around and have brotherly love makes me so happy. I am identifying them more as individual guys then their ' kpop' personas on stage. It's amazing to begin to have this level of appreciation and love for ' our boys'. I don't have this with any other kpop group and I don't even consider BTS kpop anymore since I am singly a fan of them. What I am trying to say is I completely understand what you mean by comparing other groups.

kookiemonster30

the way i cant wait to see your reaction for the other seasons

Mahra

Thanks for another great video I was just wondering would it be possible for you to put the sub titles bigger as I’m actually partially sighted even with my glasses on I’m having trouble reading the captions don’t worry if you can’t I still enjoy watching with you 😊

Lynne Booth

Thank you! Another great start to a sunday. Who knew that watching someone watching BTS would be so enjoyable. I sure did not, but then again I did not know back in September that I would be totally smitten by 7 Koreans 😊

Kari Grønvold

I am a fan of Kdrama for over 10 years now but I wasn’t into Kpop until BTS. I knew some group and I have been a casual listener of groups like Bigbang and 2nei but it was only BTS that made me stop, look and listen. It was one of those days when I was just randomly watching videos on youtube and BTS came to my recommendations and after that, there was no going back. I understand you DT when you said it’s difficult to get into other groups. I watched Korean music award shows after becoming an ARMY so I get to see other groups perform. Maybe BTS just sets the bar too high for me but I just couldn’t get into other group’s music. But my admiration for BTS goes beyond their music. Their personalities that we get to catch a glimpse of through their reality shows, their hardwork and the way they love each other and their fans makes me connect to them more I guess. Now when I see other groups in my recommendation I feel like if I watch them I’m being disloyal hehe weird but I feel like I would be cheating on them. Some kpop fans might say I am missing on other good music/group and yup,I’m sure there are other good groups out there who makes good music but I’m certain I’m not missing anything. Just being an ARMY is comparable to having a full time job lol. BTS gives us so much content and varied discography I can hardly keep up. Watch whatever makes you happy DT and at your own pace!We might give you some recommendations but at the end of the day it’s your choice. Enjoy and savour the journey of being an ARMY. There’s no rush. Yes there’s a lot of content but you’re in this Bangtan Sonyeondan for life ( I hope 😊) so you’ll get to watch all of them eventually. Be safe DT!

florilene

Honestly, I only have the bandwidth to cheer for one band. Having such an obsessive personality, I spend too much of my time watching their content (and they keep me well fed) that I end up not having the time or capacity to venture out. I discovered BTS, or better yet, they came into my life when I needed them, and like you, I’ve become so fond and attached that I haven’t looked back. Happy to be an Army, but I understand that other people may like other groups too, and should not be made to feel guilty. I only watch BTS reactions, and to that end, you’ve kept me pretty busy! Thanks DT, as always. 💜

Sophea Plata

You should react to bangtan bomb it's tricky is title bts here we go (by run–d.m.c.) it's great and some funny dance practice like war of hormone real war version also spring day lovely version you will like them . I Purple u

Vviolet

I completely understand what you mean DT, when you said it's difficult to watch or get into another group because it kind of feels like your cheating lol It just shows how much you've come to connect and understand the guys. How comfortable you are with them and how they do things and how they make you think. It's pretty cool, right? Although you said it's difficult to get into another group I'd just suggest you at least keep a lookout for TXT (Tomorrow X Together) they debuted last year 2019 and are from the same company as BTS. They are considered their little brothers. I find their relationship adorable. So just thoughts for later.

JLDB

I feel you DT.... i become k-pop fans since 2nd Generation (BTS is 3rd Generation). In 2nd Generation i like 2pm and BigBang. Since i know BigBang, their set the bar high for me, they are so different from others group. But i like them just as Artist. When those two not comeback anymore, i'm not really liking K-pop anymore bc i can't find smth that macth my taste. I known BTS long before i become army, but at that time i think BTS still can't reach my fav Bigbang. Until one day i feel like i want to be K-pop fans again.lol. So i sit down and watch the only one that keep getting popular. BTS. and boom! I became army. As i know their personality, i'm liking them not just as artist but as human being, i can't believe those 7 soul exist in this mess world. I try to be multi fandom, but rather be feel like "cheating", i just feel BTS set the bar really really high. Especially with their moving lyric and their messages. I know many groups out there make their songs, but the only one can make this amazing Love myself songs is just BTS. And i hope you always genuine in your opinion, i mean if you liking smth then tell it, if not then tell it. Is just not logic to have someone like ALL groups that exist in Korea like some youtebers -_-. Every one have a taste. Oh if you want me to recommend, i like to recommend 'Ateez', they are other group that pick my interest. I'm 100% sure you will like them, bc looks like i know your music taste.

Lolita

you're defo not the only one. including me, believe it or not most of ARMY are actually solo bts stans, not necessarily fans of kpop. (it's actually one of the reasons why multi-fans and fans of kpop have a problem with army, because we tend to not like supporting other groups lol) it's easy to call fans of other groups "kpop fans" because they usually do like more than one group. that's why the kpop community is kind of separated into "ARMY + everyone else" kind of thing. you can't even call an ARMY a kpop fan at this point, the two terms have become un-interchangeable, due to ARMY finding it hard to stan groups other than BTS lol so rest assured. i think BTS is the kind of group that fills your heart, that's my opinion!

paulatrie

Like you, when I first got into Kpop all I watched was BTS and thought it was their special quirk, their obsession with rock, Paper, scissors. But it’s literally everyone in Kpop and Korea. I swear to god it’s how they make all decisions 😂😂! Like there’s even a band, when moving into a new dorm, divided up the rooms and decided roommates for the next two years based on R,P, S 😂😂😂. There’s even different versions they have that you can play. Most obviously the multi player version. In US it’s usually only ever two people play or have to do it tournament style...and you grow out of it so it’s something really only kids do. Korea takes all game to next level, but Rock, Paper, Scissors is a way of life

Laura Moore

Just thought I'd chime in here. The rock-paper-scissors they keep playing isn't exactly a game. It's almost like a way of drawing straws. It's used a lot in countries throughout Asia. The purpose is to retain harmony in groups even when resources (sandwiches, rooms, etc.) have to be imperfectly distributed. The idea is I might not get my favorite outcome now, but the next time around I might AND it is never any one member of group's fault that Jimin didn't get his favorite sandwich. It's luck's fault, so all the good relationships are maintained. Hope that helps. :D

Jennifer Weaver

Yes jk loves video editing. You should react to his gcf in Tokyo it’s great!

chim chim

Thank you :) It's great hearing how beautiful my country is from other people

Suzanne Austen

@Aprill Smith Reacting to one episode a week is actually not that bad, and it wouldn’t take long for him to get to Season 4 if he keeps it constant. It’s just that I’m not sure if he wants to add other shows in the schedule, if so then it’ll take much longer. I wouldn’t mind if he chooses to watch Bring The Soul documentary etc, or continue on with BV series. I just hope he’s not gonna stop these highly-demanded reactions for American Hustle Life. That’d be a real bummer for me😂 Heck no, I’ve had enough of having to sit through that show. I don’t wanna watch BTS getting disrespected during my free time

Jaeyi

I grew up in kpop. I was like 5 when my cousin got me into Seo Taiji (founder/father of kpop) and used to listen to all the OG stuff. I kind of moved away from it and got really into Korean rock, k-indie/alternative, jazz, classical and other various genres. I tried to listen to kpop too but to be honest, i didn't really like any of it for many years. I stumbled on a song that was a bit nostalgic for me. It was BTS Coffee, the song is a remake from a group i really like. I dove into their discography on spotify and really liked alot of their stuff. I was like hmm...BTS...are they some hip hop collective? I had no idea they were a kpop group. I found out many months later when i got curious and went to look them up. I fell in love with their music first and personalities got me to actually join ARMY. Never been in a fandom or was interested enough in any artist to dive deeper. BTS is once in a lifetime and i really think they're special. Don't feel pressured that just because you like BTS, you are obligated to listen/like other kpop groups. Its such a weird mentality some kpop fans seem to have and I say that as a Korean myself. Happy Stanning DT and I enjoy watching your journey to being an ARMY :)

Mimi

At this rate...that will be next year.

BTS Super Fan

sad there's no behind the scenes

Mia Fisher

ah yeah dont worry, i get you, i have the same feeling ;) i may like 2-3 songs from other groups but im never engaged in them as much as i am engaged with bts. and i like how u keep it real, dont be afraid to voice your opinion, last time i checked its not a crime to have it lol thank you for the reaction!

Yeva

I started with 2pm then got7. And i refused to watch bts till my niece told me to watch their mvs. Now im hooked. Its been 4 years now since I became an Army and I am still watching their contents. And yes bon voyage is one of the best shows !! It makes u wanna travel right? I love all season esp the Malta trip. NZ season 4 was a whole new look with them all grown up and driving ard. Love your reactions! Cant wait to see more !!

Yumi Shimitzu

Even in the most recent Episodes they are responsible for a certain amount of cash. It helps them work together and brings challenge. i think it honestly keeps them down to earth,.

Moorgra

I can fully understand that feeling of guilt. It took me quite awhile before I listened to any other kpop groups. Quite honestly, even the few groups that I do listen to now, it is more of as a casual fan. No one comes close to the level of BTS and I just love each and every member of BTS with all of my heart for how uniquely talented and special they all are. Jimin is my bias, but I can't do without each of them.

heavenlyonesbts

I never liked kpop even before getting into bts. It's just bts happens to be a kpop group & i love them, that's it. I got into bts in mid 2015, they were struggling in the industry at that time. I spent lots of time on voting and other stuff, hoping to help them got more exposure to general public. 5 years later, I'm still doing the same. I have no time for other groups and i wont be doing the same for other groups. I did try to listen to some other groups bc of the hype, but, eventually, non of them caught my interest. Bts is just too special for me, i believe same goes with most armys.

Rachel Hsu

Well I only listen BTS, ATEEZ and Dreamcatcher, and as each of them has very different and unique style/sound I don't really end up comparing them much - and well for example ATEEZ' guys look up to BTS and have covered some of their songs but in their own style and are a rookie group so it would be very unfair to expect them to be on the same level as BTS. But other than that I don't even really feel the need to get into other groups, these keep me busy enough and have variety of music for different moods (and I do listen some other music that these 3, mainly rock/metal/folk). And I'm very attached to these members, especially BTS since they have so much content through which you get to know them just as you said. I need to feel some kind of connection either to the band members or the stories they tell through their songs etc for me to get attached to the music as well, so I wouldn't even have time for many other groups :'D Also about those big fur hats with flappy ears...at least nobody in Finland (or Sweden that I've seen) wear them except tourists - can't of course speak about Norwegians on this as certainly, but often nordic countries have similarities. And May isn't summer month, not in here, it's still spring...and weather has been pretty weird these last years anyway - like two years ago some parts of Finland got snow in the middle of June, and then it was hellishly hot until September, not sure which one I disliked more.

Blau Beere

All the bovoyage seasons are really amazing. Personally, season three is my favorite.

Yolanda Hong

I think you misunderstood the meaning of OT7. Being an OT7 is the basic quality you should have to be in the fandom, it basically means you support and appreciate every member in the group. You can have a bias while being an OT7, it’s not like you can only choose to be either or. If someone’s not an OT7, it means they’re a solo stan, which we don’t welcome in the fandom :)

Jaeyi

!!!! coupled with their upgrade in production value + great weather, literally stunning

Steph

"learn the value of money" also bts *saved up money to be able to afford a cake for Christmas to treat themselves* I'm a bit tired so that had me giggling for a few minutes

Elsa

LMFAOOOO

Steph

I literally prepare meals before watching an episode of BV, I always get hungry watching them eat lol

AndreaDre

Wait till you see New Zealand in Season 4, wow that's beauty i've never seen before

Jaeyi

Omg hahahah, you should react to "Bts forgetting they're millionares" pt 1 & 2 as well as "Seven BTS betrayals'. They'll literally throw each other under the bus for a $3 voucher i swear

Jaeyi

Dt, I understand you completely when it come to feeling like BTS are our guys. I had no clue about K-pop. I found BTS and was told they were k-pop. I did try to give othe groups a chance, but just couldn't get into them. BTS is so unique that it's hard for me to put them in any category. So I consider myself Army/ BTS only. I can barely tolerate the stuff on the radio these days, so it's not just about other K-pop artists not measuringup, it's about almost everything else out there not measuring up the BTS.

For my BTS is a diamond and Gold. Other artists are like other type of precious stones, but not like diamond and gold to me. More I check other groups, more clear that there is no one like BTS. I really respect the group seventeen's razor sharp dance performance tho.

Rainbow

You're not alone...I'm a bts fan only. Not that other groups aren't talented because some are but BTS has something special and very different that creates a bond with their fans. Everyone tries to explain it or replicate it and no one can...its just something that you know when you feel it.

BTS Super Fan

no behind the scenes? :/

"learning how to be frugal" I giggled out loud when you said that so earnestly because the reason Yoongi is handling the money is not just because he is seen as the responsible one, but because he had to get by on his own when he was younger and trying to be a rapper. He sometimes had to skip meals in order to afford transportaion. That man already knows the value of money. Actually, all of them do.

For me personally I only stan BTS and TXT because BH and their in-house producers honestly only put out bangers but I do come across kpop songs from here and there that I like. I also noticed that because I watch a lot of kdramas and korean variety shows that features other idols I tend to like their personality more than I like their music lol.

By the way I regret not getting to know them in 2014. I probably would not have been in such a dark place if I knew them then, but I guess they arrive when you need them the most.

I've been listening to kpop for 10 years now. I meet bts in 2014. I didn't have much time then so I just listened to the groups I knew. BTS was the exception, but only their title songs and so on. In 2018 I discovered their personalities and I fell in love. It was a dark time for me and they were and still are my therapy, so I have them really close to my heart. I don't feel like I I am cheating cause I know I wont have the same thing with any artist. Because of them I started to listen to new groups again, but I don't do it that often cause I prefer to be watching BTS over any singer, not just kpop. I listen to what they recommend though.

I don’t have the time or energy to give other groups what I do BTS and none of their music affects me like theirs. I wish them success though & I don’t understand fanwars at all. No other group gets any of my attention, negative or positively really.

I love watching Bon Voyage because it really takes my stress away just watching the guys do sightseeing and eat and have fun. And as you said it makes you feel like you get to travel a bit yourself. It was fun for me watching them in Norway since I live in the neighbour country so the culture and language is similar.

I like a few songs from GOT7 and their personalities but I also can't seem to get in to any other kpop groups! BTS is it for me. Also, although obviously food takes part in any culture, it especially plays a huge role in Korean culture. Koreans often order lots of dishes and share what is on the table with each other and the whole activity is seen as a bonding experience. Feeding each other is common and is a way to show that you are taking care of that person. Showing signs that you are obviously enjoying your meal like slurping and exclamations are a sign of respect to whoever cooked the meal and not showing these signs might be considered rude. They eat in a lot of their videos! It makes me so hungry!

I agree with all the comments on here why BTS is just different and hits different. I’ve been listening to kpop for a long time since I’m an Asian American and it was just all sorta meh for me until I truly dived into BTS. The connection I feel with them literally moves me throughout my daily life. Even when your sad their lyrics and message just keep you going. You can always close your eyes and go to the “Magic Shop” and give your best. I’m tearing up as I write this and literally no other group can do that for me. To venture out though I’ve been looking at TXT and Gfriend, because their stories all tie into the BTS universe.

i understand your feeling: I'm an army period and don't have time for other groups. I distantely follow mamamoo and ateez because i think they are great but i don't have time to be in their fanbase and follow evertything.

busandiamond

I think it's okay to check out music from other groups. Music is music after all. But I agree with you, I don't think I can get into another group like how I have with BTS. It's just different. And I've been into different groups through the years like Nsync, H.O.T., Green Day, Super Junior, etc, etc, but nothing was like BTS.

same for me

for me iam not a kpop fan I am just a bts fan ❤

I totally agree with you, I tried to give other groups a chance but I didn’t find what I liked about BTS; it’s still another level. I am very music-loving but I am very attached to compositional melodies, texts and messages, and despite my age (46), BTS have largely captured my attention intellectually more than any other artist in the history of music. BTS takes us back to the basics of the human being: never to deny its nature, to be proud of its origins and beliefs, not to be individualistic but collective, to open myself to other cultures and to accept better the difference without any prejudice. I don’t talk about other bands out of respect for their fans and I don’t want to be a hypocrite, but I admit that I often lose interest about the youtubers who start reacting to everything and anything just to collect the views, it’s as if they were showing me that their interest in BTS was finally faking. I think you’re the only one who’s had the courage to say that he’s having trouble getting into other groups and that BTS is on another level. Thank you for your sincerity

spot on for me!! samee

i tried to get into other groups, i really did lol but the reality is that no other group is going to even come close to what bts is so i gave up

asia

i wil listen to other groups, but i never truly get into them because bts is just ... different and no one could ever own up to that for me. their music, personalities, etc and they're so much more than a band to me. so i will listen to a few other groups but never to the point of bts or knowing their names even. also i was wondering if you're still reacting to the behind the scenes of run and bon voyage. ive seen people react to the behind the scenes in the same ep as the episode you're watching since they're pretty short.

BTS is my ultimate. It took me a while after I first listened to BTS to even try to listen to other groups. I Love Music and so does BTS, obviously. So knowing that they too listen to other groups, artists and styles made me more comfortable trying. There are many groups that I think is ok some are even really good but I can't connect to any of them like I have BTS. Even American groups and artists that I have followed for many years I find myself not be so close to anymore. Example I have followed Backstreet boys for nearly 25 years, I got really upset when they lost to BTS on a music award show. Now I don't even know what they are up too anymore.

Honestly I felt much the same when it comes to checking out other groups. The standard BTS sets is just kind of insurmountable. Add to that I just feel like their production value music and lyric wise is just higher - added to that the members themselves are involved in such high quality music. Other Kpop groups just can't really compete - and it doesn't help that they're all really good, decent and loveable people just out in the world to spread good music with good messages. Hard not to be fond of them!

Universium

I haven’t mentioned it before, but I used to live in Seattle and I really miss it. I used to hate the rain there, but now I miss it 😢

미카 모니카

i know what it’s like to only want to see bts content lol. tbh i didn’t start looking into other groups until years after i discovered bts just to catch up on their content. i watch other groups casually but nothing will top bts for me :) edit: just finished watching and i totally share your sentiment about jimin hes just so cute and affectionate 😭 also u thought the 30 min episodes were long, in s4 the episode are like an hour and half each lol

Aya

I think you have bias ^^

Su yeun kim

You are really ot7?

Su yeun kim

I love the Bon Voyage series the most, the production quality gets better as the seasons go on. It's funny, I've purposely stayed away from diving into other kpop groups because BTS has so much content already, I figured I'd just be overwhelmed, and a weird sense of guilt lol. Looking forward to more episodes! :)

AndreaDre

Same here. When I look at other group, I do feel like I am cheating! Lol. I ended up being a loyal Ot7 and I am not even sad about missing on other kpop idol group. I am completely happy being an ARMY only.

미카 모니카

Taehyung and jin are honestly the best actors in bts lol

Neb

I've experienced that where it was hard to enjoy other kpop groups because my standards were set so high from BTS. But I soon realized after years of JUST BTS, that I should give love to all these groups because BTS is not the only group that struggles. Every group has their own little charm and i'm finding that as I experience new groups :) I also get the cheating part as well hahah, when other groups have comebacks I stay away from that group in chance they might be competitors with BTS chart placement :')
