You need to know something about statuses. When someone transfers to a new familia, it's called "conversion". But no matter how many familias one goes through, remnants of the first bestowment of a deity's "ichor", or status application, will always remain. And when someone joins a new familia through conversion, they're not allowed to do another one for one year. Which means that Mikoto has to stay with Hestia Familia for a whole year before she can go back to Takemikazuchi Familia.
