digimend-kernel-drivers v10 released
Added 2020-10-04 13:09:49 +0000 UTCI have finally released digimend-kernel-drivers v10. It includes support for many new Huion tablets and their features. However, I couldn't implement complete support for Huion touch rings/strips due to libinput and Wacom driver limitations. See the above-linked release notes for details.
I must admit I don't have enough free time or funding to commit enough effort to keep on top of all the changes in the kernel, distributions, and the drivers. There's simply way too many people working on that full-time. Non-wacom tablets don't seem to be considered important enough to accommodate. Working on support for new tablets on top of that becomes even harder.
I have a plan I've been slowly thinking about and researching on for a while, which could help circumvent these issues and allow easier external contributions of tablet support. However, at the moment I simply lack motivation to act on it. Therefore I'm pausing my Patreon billing indefinitely to relieve the pressure and take a break, and to hopefully find it eventually.
I am very grateful to every one of you for your support, and I feel obliged to give you back in my efforts. And since I seem unable to do that at the moment, I must stop taking your money.
