What is RTFF Trading?

RTTF Trading is the idea to make a profit from RTTF cards due to the hype before the matchups. This trading method is very similar to OTW/Headliner trading and I recommend reading that before this one. I will show the similarities and differences to make it as short as possible. 

Similarities with OTW/Headliner Trading

Similarities are very easy. You can expect some hype before the game just like on OTW and Headliner cards, that’s why it's smart to look for these in advance of the games and buy before everyone else. Selling in the hype is key again! 

Same with scoring goals. If a team is winning / surprisingly winning you can see the card prices going up. That’s an effective way to make coins if you are fast enough just like OTW or Headliner Trading! 

Key Differences to OTW/Headliner Trading

First of all, the card isn’t locked to a specific player. That means, the RTTF Player doesn’t need to score or assist any goals, it's locked to the Club. As long as the Club wins, he gets the upgrade! 

Another difference is the way it upgrades. We will get more information about that with some later pitch notes, but RTTF Cards upgrade based on the rounds they advance in the competition and not only wins! That means if it’s a two-legged round and an RTTF Club loss but still advances to the next stage, he gets the upgrade! 

It's also a higher budget method as most RTTF cards usually hold a high price throughout the year. On top of it, people buy early and you have to be ahead of 90% of the community to make the big money! If your budget is limited you most likely going to end up in an Opportunity Cost Trap and miss out on other great trades.

But the biggest difference is probably the price drop. If an RTTF Club loses and doesn’t advance to the next stage, the RTTF Card can heavily drop in price. During FIFA 19 and early FIFA 20, it was around 50% of the card value. That’s such a massive drop that I never recommend gambling with these RTTF cards. It's football and you never know the outcome.

Buy before the Hype

That’s why it's even more important to buy before everyone else and sell before the game. We will cover these buys in our normal trading posts, but I also want to show you why we pick these buys. 

We usually post our buy posts around 1-2 weeks before the game time so you have enough time to look for decent deals. It’s a bit risky as you hold through multiple content releases but we will aim to help you find the right sweet point to make this work. 

Around 4-5 days before the game we usually see a stronger rise on these RTTF cards and people slowly taking the gamble. That’s when we start to cash out and move our coins to other trades. 

We don’t take the gamble, we are just using the hype to build our coins in a much safer and more consistent way. That’s the magic behind this and that’s what we always aim for.
