Position Change Method
Added 2021-09-08 11:37:15 +0000 UTCIt is one of my favorite methods for the early stages of the game! Easy to grind and straightforward!
What is the Position Change Method?
The Position Change Method is a very beginner method to make coins even very early in the game.
The idea behind this method is to make coins on position changed cards on the FUT market. Due to a changed position, these cards gain a bit more value but they still get listed at the normal prices. Ideally, you buy them at a low or average price and sell for profit due to the added value through the position change.
There are 2 very common examples and the main coin makers for this method! These are…
Expensive Position Changes

_ _
These are the current prices for the expensive position change consumables. As you can see, these are around the ST – CF – CAM – CM – CDM positions.
As a casual player, buying a 10k card and moving him from ST to CAM would cost 6k+ coins. So instead of buying the consumables, it's common logic to search on the market and maybe find the card with CAM and the casual player finds a card for just 14k. That seems like a good deal for the casual player as he can play with his card and saves some coins.
But the trader is the actual winner here because the trader looked at the market and waited for the card to pop up with CAM Position around 10k to relist at 14k and make a quick ~3.5k profit.
And that’s how this method works. You look out for cards between 5k and 45k with position change at normal prices to relist at higher prices. As a rough guideline, half the consumable value is a good selling price, but I highly recommend checking the market for your card with the changed position and you maybe can get a few more coins out of it. If you notice multiple cards at non-profitable prices with the position change then the card is already overused for the position change method and it's time to change to a different card.
RWB/LWB Trick
Another very common way to do this method is by the RWB and LWB defenders.
As an example, very early in the game, Da Costa RWB was usually around like Discard or 800 coins. But his position changed card (Da Costa RB) was selling around 1.2k-1.5k. That makes a difference of 500 – 800 coins. The position change consumable for RWB to RB was only 200 coins.
That means, buying Da Costa RWB and the RWB to RB consumable would cost together around 1k. Selling for an average of 1.4k ends up with around 300 coins profit per card!
This was super solid for like 4-5 days and some people grinded up to 10k per hour with this super basic low-budget method.
Special Cases
Special Cards
As the year continues, you can apply this method to out of packs special cards and work together with the Special Card Flipping Guide to make additional profits!
RW / LW
A bit like the RBW to RB trick, it also works for wingers. This is mainly due to SBCs requiring a position and people being lazy to apply consumables so they just buy the more expensive RM or RF version.
The best tip here, check the card and compare the prices, it can be profitable!
Early Stages of the Game
A super method for the early stages of the game. The deals are usually a bit less but you can make bigger coins being consistent on the market and cycling through different playable cards. Probably Top 3 method to get from 5k-20k to closer 50-100k.
Later Stages of the Game
As explained a bit above, it's recommended to move over to more Special cards. Gold Cards get supplied the whole year and lose value as the year continues.
There will be cases that probably still work, the best tip here is to compare the prices and check each again!
