SBC Investing / Fodder Investing

SBC Investing / Fodder Investing means buying cards in advance of an SBC to make a profit from it! As you can see from the word “investing” it's an EA-based market move and you depend on the content EA wants to put out.
Using the Unassigned Pile is also very key for this method as it allows you to store as many cards as you want!
Key Times
Finding the right time to buy fodder can be easy and tough depending on the current market situation, I can give you a few common patterns which can help you identify the right time!
Fodder Low Point
A Fodder low is usually a very good sign for larger investments. Depending on the content plan for FIFA 22, we will see different Fodder movements throughout the year and at some point, it will be easier to analyse and identify a current low for Fodder. You have the advantage that you can buy in bulks and be prepared for all different stuff! The biggest downside on this method is the hold time, as you depend on EA, and sometimes, they just don’t release appealing SBCs, it can take a week to see a profit. In general, if you are going on holiday or having some longer inactivity time, this is a solid way to spend your coins and hope for a rising market when you return! (But always message me before you do these things, I’m happy to talk about long-term investments in DMs or the chats)
Expected Content
The other option is to wait for some information about potential future content! This can be through our leaks, through public leaks, or some game data code. The advantage of this way is to know what you are buying and you have a rough idea when you are aiming to sell it again. Sadly, you aren’t alone when stuff like this happens and you potentially run into a situation with Trader Hype, bad value in the SBC, or wrong information. That all can lead to a fast drop again.
No Supply Time
There will be some content patterns throughout the year and sometimes it's easy to predict when to expect content. On top of it, we usually have set times for supply which make fodder investments more interesting. If we manage to get a good SBC after the supply time it can boost our investments even more than usual as there’s nothing that counters the rise.
Key Players
Key Players will be easier to predict after seeing the first SBCs and getting an idea of price points. But there are general rules which can help you throughout the year!
Rare positions like fullbacks or wingers are usually rising very fast and high if needed in the formation. It depends a bit on the chemistry, a low chemistry SBC doesn’t make them rise as high as a high chemistry SBC! You can take a gamble on these and hope for a big profit.
CBs are known to bring solid profit as every formation requires CBs and they aren’t as many options as in other positions. That allows some of them to rise a good chunk.
I also fall in love with some CDM fodder cards. They can give you chemistry for the CB/CDM/CM positions which are usually very rare.
As mentioned, chemistry and rating are also a big part to find the right players. It doesn’t help to buy 88 rated cards if only 83 ratings are required! We will provide you with some predictions on rating and chemistry throughout the year and help you with the decision!
And the very last point, you can use the “Cheapest by Rating” option on Futbin to find the cheapest cards for the specific ratings. You can even filter through different positions with the options on the left side!
