The Unassigned Pile is extra storage for purchased cards. It's like between a glitch and a real feature, nobody knows how EA wanted to play this out, but this is used by many traders throughout the whole year many times!
How does it work?
The easiest way is to just buy cards on the console and leave them in the Unassigned pile. You get there after buying a card, it’s the menu when you decide to move to the club, move to the transfer list or discard. However, you can also just leave that menu and the card stays there!
This extra storage can hold an unlimited amount of cards. You could theoretically buy 10.000 cards and it would still be there. You can only see 50 randomly selected cards and that’s already the disadvantage!
While having cards in the Unassigned Pile, you can’t open packs. Even worse, if you buy more than 50 cards and then want to buy another card from the Transfer Market, it's likely to get lost between all the other cards. However, you can buy your Squad through the Squad buy menu and it won't go to the unassigned pile at all.
We also got two useful commands in the bot channel! Use !ua to see how many cards you got in your current Unassigned Pile and use !unassigned to see how you can add cards to your Unassigned Pile on webapp / mobile app!
This extra storage is very important for mass investing as you can store an unlimited number of cards!
