What is Marquee Matchup Investing/Trading?

Marquee Matchup Investing/Trading is a trading method around a specific SBC showcasing the 4 biggest real-life football matches of the week released on every Thursday at 6pm. I will write MM instead of the Marquee Matchup from now to make it easier.

SBC Investing

As you already know, you can make investments for SBCs and that’s also the case for the MM. 

Ideally you aim to get as many right picks as possible and buy Gold cards from the featured clubs. Over the last year, EA made it tougher to really make profit from it so we decided to focus more on the Top 2 Clubs as they usually ask for 1-2 cards from the featured clubs. The Bottom 2 clubs usually just get requirements around the league and nothing much specific for the club, that makes the profit tougher as the community isn’t straight pinpointed to a specific direction and people can spread between multiple different cards. 

Aimed sell time would be after the release of the SBC, ideally in the first hour when the SBC has the highest demand!

You can also trade around the MM SBCs! 

One very simple way would be sniping specific cards whenever they are required, which avoids any risk of failing investments! We will most likely cover this throughout the year too, especially if we notice any big price changes! 

Another way would be buying cards during the rewards and selling them before the release of the MM. Especially during the first weeks of Fifa, people usually care more about the MM and we can expect some hype around the investments. 

Special Cases

UCL MM

We also have a special version of MM, it’s the UCL MM. We will cover this in the normal post for sure, but to just talk about it, it’s a MM based on the UCL games. These are the very profitable MMs, they can make you x2 x3 your coins if you are going for a long-term investments. 

The trick behind this, they usually require 2-3 from the specific clubs, they are easier to predict and they even require the UCL Rare and UCL Non-Rare cards. Due to these 3 boosts the prices rise stronger and faster!

More people also know about this which leads into a stronger hype before the SBC drops. That allows us to trade with the hype a lot! A very solid method is to buy the cards in advance and sell whenever the hype starts without taking any risk and still making decent coins. 

Clubs with very little options

Clubs like Bayern or Barcelona are known for not having many Gold Cards at the lower price ranges which allows them to be traded in the MM SBCs, but EA still asks for 1-3 of them in the MM. With the low supply + high demand, these cards really go high!
