Adoptable, $100 show preview, T shirt design

Hi everyone! Sorry for the silence last month. I’ve been doing a lot of fests and busy, note on upcoming ones below!

First: Here is a character I made for fun, a papillon puppy girl based on a tiger swallowtail butterfly. With a monarch butterfly tattoo haha. Maybe it’s all they had at the shop. Or her girlfriend is a monarch? accepting offers for this pup if you want her, please comment your offer above $40 I will be happy.

Next up, four finished mini paintings for a $100 show on April 1 at Crisis Club Oakland. I gotta do six more of these little fuckers but it’s really fun. At first I was miffed cuz I wanna paint big, in reality I am just happy to be painting. I wish I could quit comics and tabling and just become a studio artist hahah ! But I’m lucky to table, comics allowme to stay afloat as an artist financially. I do love comics too and won’t stop. But painting is exprememly rewarding and I would recommend it to anyone. Whereas I would probably only recommend making comics to children or the deranged.

Last up, my gorgeous tshirt design I sent to print yesterday !!!!! I can’t wait to rock it. I’ll be slinging books n shirts n zines at Bookworm Book Fair in LA on April 1st, and Tucson Zine fair (Arizona) on April 15. Grateful to travel again!!

For those of you who support my work and never get to meet me at shows or buy my art that isn’t online, truly, thank you for sticking around ! I see many artists manage their online business on top of doing everything I do, and many also having multiple day jobs. I know it’s possible but I’m still getting there. I was never cut out for the business side of things so it’s kind of like teaching a fish to play fetch. I end up thinking about my characters as their own little employees going out into the world to earn for me. And I don’t like it lol, it’s not a creative thought, but still I love my little breadwinners, P&P so I made another t shirt. I have a lot of dumb thoughts, I start teaching again soon, too. But as a teacher I’m all business. Chop chop make it work. I might enjoy teaching zoom classes to adults only I have a Pavlovian aversion to zoom because of therapy haha.

I’m gonna do my best to offer specials to patrons soon, such as adoptables and first dibs on art that doesn’t sell at the gallery. So maybe some of these $100 pieces will be available in May at a discount here 💚
