I’ve come across a few people mentioning Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and I wholeheartedly agree. It’s my favorite game of the year. I played the first one on PS4 but never finished it because I found the combat with a controller too cumbersome and challenging. However, playing KCD2 on PC is the way to go. The directional attacking input feels much more intuitive and responsive with a mouse. The voice acting for the main characters is spectacular, the side quests are engaging and take unexpected turns. The game doesn’t rush at all; it requires some play sessions to include doing a simple task like picking herbs or traveling from one town to another. If you approach it with the right mindset, I believe it’s the perfect hardcore medieval simulation that combines the best elements of old-school Bethesda games with modern design. It’s an absolute 10/10 game. Another game that I’ve been getting into but didn’t release this year is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl. It’s a hardcore version of Fallout New Vegas with excellent gunplay.

2025-06-08 12:38:07 +0000 UTCI like the possibility of Citizen Sleeper 2 getting it. But has there ever been a game to win GOTY solely for its script? (Not that this is much of an argument against it. First time for everything, and all that)
