Integrated supply chains

The switch to the region wide auction house has changed the goldmaking game significantly, particularly for consumables. with the addition of the capability to craft max quality guaranteed we see the emergence of real life business strategies taking hold in WoW.

Owning the entire supply chain

With the combination of specialization points being needed for optimal profits in various and a significant uptick in cross profession materials there are a lot more steps that can be profitable. All of these can be profitable on their own, but due to the region wide AH the competition in any one market is quite high and profits are low. If you can stack 4 or 5 different processes on top of each other, that each yield 10% profit, then the end profit can be massive!

Inspiration: JC+alch

This post was inspired by a video I sawy by Eyan, He used prospecting to generate a lot of gem materials, he would then craft vials and some other intermediate products from jewelcrafting. The vials he would finally use with afully stacked alchemist with max stats to crank out potions.

The end result is a massive profit margin, significantly higher than any one step.

Examples: Herb + alch

Obviously Eyan already lays out the case for alchemy + jewelcrafting. If you have herbalism you can potentially add another step with refining 5 quality 2 herbs into 1 quality 5 herb for the max rank potions. You can stack deftness to reduce the crafting cost for this, which can add a significant amount of profit to your overall numbers.

Enchanting + Blacksmithing and tailoring

You can utilise enchanting to shuffle enchanting materials and use those to craft max rank enchants. If you can craft the right items to disenchant with a fully resourcefulness stacked tailor you can craft gleaming shard items as cheap as possible. For storm dust you can utilize profession equipment, with the optimal choice utilzing both disenchanting areas with a full shatter essence buff.
