KoD Progress Report: September 16

One of our core goals with KoD is to give players meaningful choices that can lead to a different experience. At the same time, we don't want to make the game a series of branching choices that have nothing in common - that would spread our efforts across many paths and prevent us from doing as extensive of a story as we want.

So far, you've been playing the early stage of the game, where your Sabia's character is being slowly developed. Some choices you've made are discrete and permanent: the catgirls will remember how you treated them, for example. Others are combinations of many choices, like whether you've made Sabia dominant or submissive. These choices and variables have had a small influence so far, but expect the consequences to increase as the game proceeds.

This update marks the first time that we're actually branching the game. Depending on the alliance you finalize, the major event of this update will have four different variants: Rokgrid, Tekrok, Dajrab, and Sabia. It won't be 100% different - we don't want to force players to repeat the entire game to see a decent amount of content - but you'll see more differences than in the past.

For example, there's a sex scenes that occurs only on Tekrok's route. There are some other sex scenes that you may or may not see, depending on the route you choose and who you've befriended so far. Neve fans, don't forget to invite her when you get the chance!

We've given players a while to make dominant or submissive choices, but in time you can expect those variables to have an effect as well. There will be future scenes that only a dominant or submissive Sabia can unlock - and expect gameplay benefits as well.

This update will include a solid number of sex scenes as well as more side content: Sabia's armor, new backgrounds, and three new character bases! Taking the time to do this right does take longer, but we think you'll agree it's worth it when you see the final quality.

You can expect our next update to be the announcement that we've finished our work and given it to testers!
