Bojana - Reshade 3.0.8 preset for Sims 4 (Works with ReShade 5.1)

• Hello my dear simmers, today i am finally sharing my Reshade preset. Many asked me to do it, and i finally made some time to make a tutorial that will help anybody who doesn't even have much experience with these things.

UPDATE: 

• This preset can be used with newest version of Reshade. All you have to do is to install new version over the old one (while installing new version don't uninstall, or delete previous one, just use "Modify" option while in setup, and you are good to go!

*** Note, if your Graphics card is not powerful enough, then you may experience low performances and low frame rates. My card is AMD RX470 and it has above average performance. Also, if you have experience with installing and configuring Reshade, then you should only download my preset and be sure to have a 3.0.8. version of reshader. Also if you are using any other reshade preset, back up your bin folder and only then insert mine! Or if you have any other preset in the game, know that maybe my preset won't work or it will look different!





If you want my reshade preset to work correctly on your Sims4 game, all you need is Reshade 3.0.8 and my INI file.

After you download both files, first start the Reshade installation (double click on downloaded file). This window will appear:




Click on “Select game” and find your Sims4 executable file (the common path to the game is : C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\ . Click on executable file and click open like in window below:



Next, installation asks you to “Select render API”. Correct API for Sims4 is Direct3D 9.

After selecting API, installation prompts you to install standard effects.



You must click “Yes” and be sure that all effects on list are checked, and click “OK”




When everything goes OK, you should see message like this:




Close installation on “X” in right top corner.

Now we must place INI file on the right location. Downloaded file has name “Bojana308.ini”. For Reshade to normally load the preset, this ini file must be placed in the same folder where executable file of the Sims4 is placed (C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin\). It is the same folder that we used to install Reshade in it. So right-click on downloaded “Bojana308.ini” file, select COPY, go to the folder above, right-click and click paste. Ini file should be now placed where it has to be.

Now, open the game. When it loads Main menu, you can start reshade configuration by clicking “Shift+F2”. The reshade window will appear like this :




Click on Settings tab, click on gray field next to text “Effect toggle key” and, for me it is “CTRL+1” but you can use any shortcut you like.

Go back to Home tab, and click continue, next window asks you to select Reshade preset that you want to use (Click on red box and select mine preset “Bojana308.ini”, and click Continue. Again click Continue, and finally, click Finish on bottom of window. Close reshade window by clicking X on top right.

Note that you can customize this preset for your needs. In reshade menu, on Home tab, you can check, uncheck and change every effect (shader). But if you change some parameters, the ini file automatically changes so you can’t revert to original preset. You must download ini file again, or copy it from download folder to game folder like you did while installing preset.

I kindly ask you not to ask me any further questions about installing or configuring reshade. Everything that you need for it to work is explained in this post. If it doesn't work for you, that is something that i cannot help you with.
