Wolves, today and every day

It was impossible, crazy, but there they were, both changed into human-shaped wolves...their minds seemed mostly intact, though there was a strong desire to run, to hunt, to be outdoors and far from any other humans and their smelly cars and factories...and the urge to fuck as wild beasts.
They indulged their urges. Only the next morning, they were still wolves...and the day after that, and the week after that. Whatever had happened to them, it wasn't going away...so they went further, leaving the outskirts of civilization and heading as deep into the woods as they could. They stuck close to rivers and streams, and finally discovered a cave-like outcropping they could use for shelter next to a waterfall. And then...they listened to the burning desires within, doing what felt right, what felt natural...that day, that night, and for the rest of their hairy, bestial lives.
