Big news to share!

I opened this Patreon a little over a year ago. Thank you so much to those who have been with me since last summer!

A little about me: I've been transcribing mainly piano (but also bass, guitar, horn, and chamber music) since 2013. I've been professionally transcribing since 2017. My introduction to the piano started at age four. I played only classical repertoire (with some interspersed Joplin ragtime every now and then). In 2014, I literally discovered the genre of jazz, and it was a game-changer! Being exposed to this new music changed my understanding of the piano. In my journey to digest the language and rhythms of bebop and jazz, I began transcribing jazz piano pieces. My first ever transcription was Oscar Peterson's Mirage (https://www.patreon.com/posts/oscar-peterson-18825167). 

After launching a piano transcription service , I decided to open a Patreon page as my primary platform to share my scores with you, and to fund my future music projects. Ah... I've got quite a few music dreams floating around in my head. The main one for the tangible future is to create a series of resources to guide the classical pianist into jazz. As a self-taught jazz pianist emerging from the classical domain, I found that such resources are virtually non-existent!  Classical tutelage gives the beginning jazz pianist a tremendous advantage with dexterity, music theory, and harmonic/melodic knowledge. I want to develop these resources (audio material, PDFs, videos) to fill this gap and expand entry into the jazz world for classical musicians. I am currently a third of the way to the financial autonomy that would allow me to get going with this project and others.  

With this in mind, I am revamping the structure of my Patreon model, to give room for my business to grow. My goal is to be financially autonomous through Patreon alone, and use my other income sources to support my music and transcription projects. 

So, what will this look like? 

Current structure: 

• Full PDF library is hosted on Patreon.
• Patrons access some/all/most PDFs directly through Patreon, depending on Tier.
• 1-2 transcription videos per month. 

New structure:

• Full PDF library will be hosted on Dropbox. 
• 2 transcriptions videos consistently posted to YouTube & Patreon. One at the Jazz Tier ($5), and one at the Funk Tier ($10). 
• Patrons will get access to each month's PDFs, month-by-month.
• Bebop 
• At the end of each month, I will send dropbox links with the month's PDFs. 
• Old PDFs will be available for purchase. (transcription list here)
