!!PSA!! Hold off on purchasing the Official Creality Cold Plate.

I was excited to see a cold plate option for the Creality K1 Max pop up for pre-sale right before Christmas. I snagged one wanting to give it a go for low temperature ABS/ASA printing or even some PLA printing with the build plate completely off!

I was quickly let down when I opened the package and saw that the build plate had these awful ripples in it that were visible to the naked eye. I figured maybe it was just a thin coating or something or perhaps the light was hitting it in the right way...

Nope.

Those ripples are there and very prominate. If I rub my fingers along the build plate I can also feel the ripples. I was hopeful that I would still be able to get a good first layer, but that also was not the case.

The ripples also show up on my bed mesh (Running a cartographer for probing) and my ABL was overcompensating. Long story short, this new cold plate was unusable.

I reached out to Creality and to my response they responded and let me know that their must have been an issue with the product itself. They sent me a replacement and the second one had the same issue. They informed me they would be pulling the product until they figure out a solution.

Be warned though, If you happen to run across one of these Creality Cold Plates for the K1 Max, you've been warned that as of writing this, they do not work and are UNUSABLE.

Actually I didn't tested abs on it yet, I have to look in it then, thanks for heads up 👍

I didn’t have any issues with it with PLA for adhesion but most of my printing on the k1 max is out of either ABS or ASA and they claim it works with ABS at 70c. I couldn’t get abs to stick even at 100c.

I've got one for my Max and also has those rippels but besides that adhesion is amazing without heating the bed, for printing pla with door closed this cold plate is perfect

I really want to get my hands on one of those cold plates for my P1S. I keep hearing good things about it. Either that or the one from BIQU

I have one plate that I got from Creality for my S1 pro and it was PERFECT works as advertised* (works at about 45c for pla) but for the K1 max specifically, just so so so very bad.

Edit: I read every word in the post except "Creality" I have 2 that arrived and they're perfect! I personally have to run PLA prints at 55 degrees instead of the Bambu Cool Plate default Temp set at 45degrees
