Heat insert PSA
Added 2024-12-17 19:06:52 +0000 UTCWhenever you’re pressing heat inserts, you want to make sure that the smaller lip on the hear insert fits into the hole you will be pressing the insert into.
This will make the entire process much easier.
*Note: the hole size should not be bigger than the heat insert itself it should just be big enough for only the lip to friction fit perfectly. For designing in fusion 360 on models that need heat inserts, I’ve found using a circle diameter of 4.5mm to be the best fit.

Yes, buying the proper heat inserts makes all the difference.

2024-12-20 20:04:35 +0000 UTCi reccomend the heat inserts from the german company "ruthex", they have this lip, not the cheap chinese "heat inserts". which are made for plastic molding which everyone buys rather than proper heat inserts .
