KDS has to be one of my favorites of the Ghibli movies. This was a very short scene in the movie but from what I got from it, it seemed she was a bit unsure about where she was and/or missing home. For me, it isnt too far removed from my experience living in Japan and Ive had the same feeling from time to time.

2015-11-15 05:45:00 +0000 UTCI myself have only seen bits and parts of the movie but I do remember this scene, especially the cat.:) What you described of her expression, through this painting, really gives that sense of longing/uncertainty. Great work!
