Out with the old, in with the new!

I used to go through a process when I finish a sketchbook because I get so attached to it in the months or years I work in it, that it's bittersweet when I move to the next one! After each book is done, I leave a message to my self on the last pages that reflect on the artistic journey and goals that were set. The bittersweet feeling has been replaced with one of excitement. What will the new sketchbook contain? What goals will I challenge myself with?🤔

The one on the left was my sketchbook for the last few months of 2024. The one before it was filled with my Final Fantasy 7 ideas regarding Rebirth and story ideas for Diana. Normally I don't fill a sketchbook with one topic but it was so fun I wanted to try it again with the next. So this one ended up becoming my zora sketchbook. It has my early zorca concepts, the creation of Cironus' family, and my comics and contributions to werewolf's Labor of Love!

I recently got a new phone, I'll have to try and make sketchbook tours again because this was a fun book to do!

The one on the right I "officially" started in september. I wanted to use it to keep all my comic stuff in one spot (such as the Meet Cute one) then I paused to focus on my zora sketchbook. With that done I've continued my zora shenanigans in the new one! I'm not sure how long the zora interest will last but as long as ideas run through my head I'll be filling up these pages.

A smaller goal was to start putting the stickers I've hoarded on my books.

For anyone curious about the brand, these two were both found at wal-mart for a buck haha! I like the feel of the paper and both did well with watercolors and marker (but expect bleed through!)
