WIP - Origins of the Windfish

My next zorca "chapter" has been on hold for a while because I've been working on designs for three specific characters, and they've gone through so many design changes and tweaks but it's so much fun. You think you're done but then you're like "WAIT! I got another idea!"

Initially I was going to share images of these three characters on my zora blog, with a poll to help me choose names for them. But then drama happened in that niche of the fandom, a friend and I were harassed and sharing anything afterwards would have fallen on deaf ears.

I picked names for each of them so problem solved!

The squid lady is named Fermata. I wanted to do something musical related since some of the canon zora in botw/totk have musical meanings to their name. Fermata is a note (or rest period) that is held until the maestro says otherwise. She is the tragic villain of this story.

The zora lady is named Skaana, the Haida name for Orca which means "spirit being!"

Last but not least, is the osprey rito named Maestro!

Skaana and Maestro are based on a pourquoi story called Orca's Song. A black whale/fish falls in love with an osprey. The two find ways to be with one another despite their differences and give one another gifts from the land and water. Their child ends up being a black and white whale that is the orca.
