Commission: A Harem His Own - Project Scope
Added 2020-10-09 01:23:37 +0000 UTCSo quick bit, not a preview, just a bit about the commission itself that I think it'd be fair to share with you, my supportive following.
So, it's currently around 20,000 words. Impressive, and you'd think that would be awesome, it'll be out soon since it was a 28,000 word estimate. Unfortunately, I'm at 20,000 and about 8,000 words over the estimate for where I thought I'd be in the story progress.
So, equivocally, I'm about 1/3 to 1/2 done at best. And being so far over the estimate, due to the addition of scenes, and ideas between the client (all is going according to plan, everyone's happy, and the story's going to be bangin'), means that the client's preview budget doesn't cover too much. I wanna hint more scenes, but I also don't wanna do a mid-roll bill to ensure it's paid for either. The scope of this project was bigger than I originally anticipated, and it'll take a while yet with minimal updates. I don't want to leave everyone in the dark, but yeah; I got backed into a corner by my own terms of service on this one.
The goal is to finish before the end of the month, but there are still about two or three big story hurdles to get over. As said, the scope is bigger. It's a story that transcends years of in-work time, and I don't want to just cop out and be like: "five years later", in the middle of a piece.
TL;DR, A Harem's taking a long time, and there won't be too many previews short of a policy shift.
