Higher ups started to think about replacing her as an anchor, which at that time might even finish her career. She decided to avoid and cope to stay strong, because she now had this responsibility to provide for her daughter alone. She was also probably scared to explain all of it to Heedo, since she was young and might not understand. And we also see that they never struggled financially, even during IMF, thanks to mom's professionalism.
