Great episode. Fascinated by how much I share in common with a Millennial pornstar.

2025-01-11 19:48:56 +0000 UTCTerrific podcast. Love your take on both Boogie Nights and Body Double. Wishful dreaming but maybe one day you'll get De Palma or Anderson. Also, maybe I'm seeing double but I could've sworn I saw you for a quick second for the Generation Wealth trailer (on my watch list). Maybe Lauren Greenfield on the podcast?

2018-07-27 21:20:36 +0000 UTCLoved Bret’s comments on Body Double, my favorite DePalma film. I got chills hearing the score and was immediately taken to the scene of Jake looking out over the beach club for the woman he was following in the mall. The weirdest thing about the movie to me is that Jake is such a loser but in the world of the movie he’s a “cool guy.”

2018-07-26 15:14:05 +0000 UTCGreat episode!! Anderson is far and away my favorite filmmaker. Seen Boogie Nights dozens of times yet you still brought up some points on it that I hadn't fully considered. I'd listen to hours of rants against alarmist liberals to get one of these pods.

2018-07-25 17:34:00 +0000 UTCThe first half was a fantastic analysis of both movies - I can't wait to read a whole book on them

2018-07-25 04:23:15 +0000 UTCThat "I hope God forgives me for Boogie Nights" quote from Wahlberg is actually a sarcastic comment taken out of context
