Film Reroll: 200 Cigarettes

We recorded this right before New Year's Eve, and then I ambitiously thought I could quickly edit and release it as a fun turn-of-the-year treat. I set it to render, checked the time, and realized it was over ten hours. Releasing an episode that long felt insane—much like this film! So, my solution is to give you this goodness in many maniacal parts, true to form. While I can't push any physical buttons, I sure can push emotional ones... Do Lucy and Kevin get together? Do Cindy and Jack stay together? Is Bridget Caitlyn's true love? Do Stephie and Val ever make it back to Ronkonkoma alive? Who knows! But won't it be fun to find out as we stretch that New Year's hope and celebration into January, much like the faded, rebellious confetti you find floating down Broadway on January 31st, likely freed from a Times Square window ledge by an errant gust off the Hudson River, hoping to make it to a house party in Tribeca. Oh, New York; never change.
(If you've never seen it, there's a recording of 200 Cigarettes floating around somewhere on the Internet Archives...)

Kevin: Jon Miller
Lucy: Kara Strait
Bridget: Scott Aiello
Caitlyn: Paulo Quiros
Val: Courtney Alana Ward
Stephie: Lisa Kopitsky
Cindy: Carolyn Faye Kramer
Jack: Andy Hoover
GM: Joz Vammer

Note: This episode is NOT geared to be enjoyed by younger ears. It's as edgy as the Lower East Side in the early '80s.

Further Note: Cabin in the Woods will definitely be coming back; we're just having to adjust for scheduling!

Comments

There's something about Joz's GM style that really works for slice-of-life style stories. Who knew that the Peanuts holidays would end up being some of my favorite rerolls? It's also my favorite part of the Blade Runner campaign: just living in the world (until the inevitable confrontation). It's also great here, especially with everyone's knowledge of the city grounding it more. Nicely done.

Can we get Kara in a screwball comedy? The way she played against Jon was just *chef's kiss*

Thank you for catching my joke. 💜

The Film Reroll

4 groups at 3 hours each. “It’ll be fine,” I said, “that’ll boil down,” I said… this was after “Bet this could be a one-shot,” I said. Turns out, there’s just a lot to do in NYC.

The Film Reroll

Oh golly. EDIT: I felt legitimately cockblocked when the episode cut away from Jon and Kara going into the bathroom.

Terry

A ten hour episode? How long did you record for?
