WIP Wednesday! - Festively plump Lauren

'Oh-Em-Gee, Zoe, have you seen what Lauren's wearing?! I can't tell who's fatter, her or those snowmen!'
Careful what you say, Sarah... From the look on Lauren's face, I think she might have overheard you, and been inspired by the Christmas Elf to cook up a little festive mischief!
Just a *very* rough concept pic of Lauren from Middle-Class Spread, one of my most oft requested characters to illustrate! I've been struggled a lot with her look for months, but feel I'm getting there now.
Let me know what you think. As usual, the final pic will be from a different angle, and in this case will contain a couple more characters: one new one, and one I've featured before. (Hmm, wonder who that could be... π)
What I worked on this week
- π΅ One little favour / We made it big
"Last night I met this guy, and I'm gonna do a little favour for him."
That Bruce Springsteen line sends a chill down my spine every time I hear it. But that's the boss's genius. His music not only transports me to times and places I've never been or seen, but creates such vivid atmosphere and images that I somehow feel I understand those places and their people deeply; and his lyrics can fill a single sentence with a thousand stories.
Well, I'm in the process of extracting one from this line. Pending Samster's blessing and approval, it'll be set in his incredibly immersive Corporate Worlds universe. At the moment it's barely more than a few vague images in my mind, but I've started writing a scene and working on a pic of a couple of characters: a man who did someone a favour, and his wifeβwho happens to be the biggest woman I've ever created.
- π Take these away from me
Still scribbling away at this one and having fun with it. I know where the story is headed. It's just a question of getting there in time for Christmas. π
- πDonna's Dinner
A commission pic for my buddy Kewlkidz, featuring a pair of deliciously large, wealthy and pompous ladies.
- π Amelia at university
Been planning out the plot, and have started work on a title picture featuring Amelia facing down her rival. I've also been creating a couple of members of Amelia's clique, who I've had a concept for in mind for a while.
...Yes, I spend far too much time creating new characters!
What's been inspiring me
"The muse only visits during the act of creation, never before." - Roger Ebert (never heard of him, but this really rang true!)
Hope everyone's having a good week! :)
