Huge thanks to everyone who sent questions in; we barely scratched the surface this time, so we may have to do another round soon...
We also have another Interlude coming before the end of the year, and we’ll be dedicating more Fireside time to exploring all the connective tissue across Umora as it unfolds.
And for those curious — Erika’s character, Dr. Harry in Fortune Found, was named after their grandfather, Harry Abé, a medic in the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. We’re sharing a few photos of him here to honor his story.

If he wasn't going to leave, Did he transport the mushroom spirits to the spirit world, saving them? (that would make Aiden Crutcher's sacrilege ultimately a positive thing, kinda)

And Akam (sp?) is in the southern hemisphere?

So if we remember that the WWI era conventional rifles like the M1903 Springfield have an effective range of 100–300 yd, I wonder how that would impact the world? Like, you could have a faction shut out of the magic but that creatively made use of the older tech to still be interesting. Sort of the Zamburak and tachanka group

How does a planet have to be tilted in relation to its sun for the south pole to be an hot desert and not a polar desert? Is Umora even on a planet. It has to be if there's a space campaign, right? I truly love the idea that all these interludes have a narrative job, and that Twelve Brooks continues to haunt and hurt our feelings. The idea of spirit taxidermy will be floating around my head now.

Perhaps it was struck by a large meteor (as one theory for Uranus's tilt goes) OR maybe Umora is a world of myth and story and it happens to be lying down to sleep as those stories are being told unto and onto it.

That's the same regiment later-to-be Senator Daniel Inouye was a part of, where he got that famous Medal of Honor story about storming a German bunker and pulling a grenade from his own severed hand.
