So what, you wanted to trap her into telling truth as static, a rock, or rod of iron, as if even those are permanent? As if they are absolute. You go to the stars now, yet in their way the jedi fell to become too absolute. Truth is fluid, people can lose their way, or others can. Very rarely can anyone be shown that when it is true. Steel pulled from the aerith (erith?) to do that first dispel and shortly after that the Kasov Collection explodes; it would be so funny to me if Steel is blamed for that and shunned from the Citadel and the Empire already having a tense relationship with her let's it happen. Ooh. She'd be so angy.

But now I'm wondering what the other secrets were she wanted Suvi to know. Also wondering why it was important to Grandmother Wren that Suvi witness her naming Ame her granddaughter and giving her the cottage.

Like that early on Brennan was cooking up a sinister story with the sweet and unassuming music in the background, carrying us along. The narcissism of it all!!!

That woman is fierce and the things she reveals in that scene is so twisted and painful. Idk how these kids say it in the moment, on the fly, but holy moly are they skilled and talented. Brilliant as always, thank you WBN, ttfn. X

When he was first introduced I thought she was just with him because she didn't want someone to challenge her and get in her way. Now I think he is probably the only personality type that can challenge her - mellow, kind and without agenda. Maybe at some points in her life she has tryed to be more human?

2025-08-15 08:02:13 +0000 UTCTo give us such detail about the Cupboards and Steel being unable to drink the Slumber... and then follow it with how she became best friends with Stone, and why she has to save her by killing her... it broke my heart. Her question to Suvi: "why didn't it change me?" sounded so scared and bitter. I've loved and worried for Steel from the moment she was introduced. Brennan, choosing the outwardly monstrous guy as the bad guy??? Nah. Too obvious. Too surface. And then he worked so hard to lull those certainties back to sleep, only to gleefully dump a bucket of cold water on me when it all came crashing down. She thinks Soft and Stone went mad? How did she hide this level of mania while working at such a high level for so long? Did having a Suvi to turn into a "better" version of her friend really quiet it that much? I'm so interested to see what the ramifications are for Steel, without Suvi around to let her pretend that everything is proceeding according to plan. Does she unravel? Does she double down? Did Suvi just doom one of Steel's own children? (God think of Steel having children and remembering every moment of the trauma of her childhood bc she couldn't be soothed) Anyway, I could write a dissertation on this character. How dare you all. And thank you.
