Added 2022-08-27 21:11:59 +0000 UTCAlright guys, my new Patreon is underway! I'm going full-on comics + bonus pics from now on, so we'll see how this goes. Super excited to be full-timing this comic again, and thank you all for your continued support while I've struggled with my hands these past years.
For now I'm gonna finish these in flats until the end of chapter 1 so I can get that finished. Then while I'm writing the second chapter and making sure it's as hot as I want it to be, I'll be shading the remainder of chapter 1 so that it can be my first printable work.
NOTE: If you're interested in joining either of the new tiers, I recommend not doing so until the 2nd of September (unless you just feel like you wanna support me even more!). I've enabled the "charge when you subscribe" on my Patreon so I could enable Patreon's new-ish discounts, if you feel like you want to join for a year and not think about it. Joining for 12 months gives you 2 months free on any of the tiers now!
This change shouldn't really affect you at all if you're a regular - it's more to prevent people from joining for a month on the 2nd and then leaving on the last day before payment would be processed. Seriously, I prefer that you pirate my art if you're gonna do that - I understand not everyone can be subscribed all the time or even often. Pay me when your life situation allows you to! But I don't want people joining just to leave right before the payment is processed.

Such a shame. Oh well, it is what it is. And yeah, Patreon probably has reasons for doing things the way they do. The lack of clarity is something they should work on though, cause like you said, I might not be the only one. Also, it would honestly be nice to know how much I'll be charged tomorrow, cause I'm honestly not sure now lol I also had an erroneous $20 charge once, from the sub-unsubbing. That was fun to deal with lol. Might still owe SigmaX $20, not really sure. It's a flawed platform, but at least it allows us to give some money to people who we think deserve it. Well... most of the time... when you don't have to PayPal 'em what they should've had already XD One last thing and I'll get out of your fur. Did you get the full €20? I'm not sure if there's more fees on the receiver's end. Never really used PayPal like that. And based on the two sketches currently in my inbox, I'm very much going to enjoy next month <3

Kinda the only one that does what we need it to, aside from things that are arguably worse but still usable like Subscribstar. But yep, every creator has the option to enable it in their settings and it still isn't, as far as I know, the default setting. In any case, once it's been enabled, you can't un-enable it, so it must tie up some things on Patreon's end. However they also made it so you can't offer bundle packages on year-long subscriptions without enabling the pay-when-you-join feature. I appreciate it though dude! Maybe quite a few of those doing that had thought the same as you and were just canceling before a further charge, unknowingly not ever having paid xD. I know for a lot of normal subscriptions, I'll sub and then immediately unsub just so I have the month and know it won't be a recurring payment, but on Patreon that can probably often mean you've just gotten a month without paying =p. Anyway, that is super kind of you, and I hope you'll enjoy what's coming on my Patreon!

I should just look it up lol I think everyone else I pledged to charges up front now, so that might be why I didn't notice. Makes a lot more sense to me too, since I'm of the opinion that if you join for any length at all (okay, maybe a few days), you should pay. But I could rant about Patreon for a while, so I'll just keep the rest to myself lol I'll keep a better eye on my Patreon receipts from now though, that's for sure.

Originally Patreon (I think) charged people exclusively on the 1st of each month, regardless of people joined. They since (or at least it's new to me) added an option to charge the moment people join, and then on the 1st every month after. Makes much more sense, but it does kind of suck for people signing up on the 28th of a month and then getting charged the next day xD, which is why Patreon still allows that option. Other subscriptions just start charging from when you join and then monthly from that date, but since Patreon mass-charges everyone on the 1st, it's kinda awkward. It's monkeyspiritarts@gmail.com!
