So far when it comes to pinups and art of existing characters I've tried to stay a bit more true to anatomy and proportions. I drew one of my favorite characters, Jinx from League of Legends to demonstrate:

However I do know that some people prefer art where some assets are exaggerated and characters are just more voluptuous overall. So I drew a version like that as well:
