Classy Self-Portrait Sunday
Added 2025-09-28 11:21:45 +0000 UTCA guy once told me that anything is classy if you make it black and white, even a regular dick pic. I ponder that often and wonder if he's right. I'm admittedly not a fan of black and white. I love colors and I love the warmth and softness of skin in color. I think it makes skin appear cold and lifeless in black and white. However, I do think it's valuable in two instances... When the color tones are not right in the original photo and you're trying to save the photo (I had my nightstand light on here as the only light source in the room) and when other tones are not matching or attractive like people with yellow teeth or mismatched colors of clothing and backgrounds. I guess I can concede its uses for artistic purposes like conveying sadness and death. I have to admit my brain only processes black and white as sad and depressing, never joyful, like I do color. And, yes, I know everyone in the world disagrees with me on this and loves black and white photographs best. :) Random thoughts from my bed on this last Sunday in September morning. In these examples, I think you’re right that b&w is more effective.
