If you’re particularly worried about seeing the blading, you don’t need to worry at all. It’s done very stealthy to make it seem like they are bleeding from their opponent. I will also say that for all intents and purposes, blading isn’t super common even in AEW. It’s not every episode by any means, but there are certain wrestlers and certain bookings that you can definitely guess will be bloody. Like if Jon Moxley is having a match, you can bet on blood.

I was so excited when you said you went to an AEW show because I have been watching them since they began in 2019. I will say a few of the things you said are slightly incorrect, Jericho has been with AEW since it was created but he didn't have a starting hand in it. They took off in 2020 but they'd only existed for a year at that point, they weren't around as long as you make it seem lol. I haven't gotten through the whole vid yet but I will also mention that it was started by a bunch of people who were *specifically* tired of WWE's treatment of their talent, it was literally made to BE competition for WWE, and it's been going pretty well for them. They're not perfect, but they are way better about being open to their wrestlers going to other promotions, doing cross promotions with other wrestling groups from other countries, they don't force the wrestlers to sell away their rights to their name and character (For instance, Edge is Adam Copeland in AEW because WWE owns the right to the Edge name and anything associated with it), and they are way more open about LGBTQ wrestlers and they obviously care a lot about diversity. And yeah, after the attitude era on WWE they super pulled back on allowing blood and violent matches, and that is another aspect of AEW that I sometimes don't enjoy because I get hella squeamish at the amount of blood sometimes...but that was something the wrestlers themselves WANTED to be able to do, and like...if they're signing up for it then ok LOL. Also the fact that they let women get bloody in their matches is SOOO not something WWE would have ever allowed, because they had some (and still do) pretty strict expectations of women to be hot and perfect with long femme hair and skimpy outfits. Obviously it's not as bad as it used to be but...I doubt WWE will ever truly let that go. Also if anything I said here it wrong I apologize I'm going off my own memory of the 6 years I've been watching AEW hahaha Edit: Also, Toni Storm is from New Zealand/Australia 💜 hahaha

As thoroughly as I love and appreciate the “usual” bent of Sad Boyz (feelings and other things also), this episode was fucking delightful and a very fun departure. Thank you to Anastasia!!! Similar to Peeps, I would never have been interested in this type of thing, but it was so cool to learn about. Jordan’s conceptual commentary was incredibly incisive (as usual). I shared the episode with my husband; it sparked an animated hour-long conversation in which I learned even more and now find myself seeking this out. Thanks for the new random interest! …also, Jordan sounds extra British in this day’s episodes. It’s pleasant to the ear. (Idk!) Jarvis is absolutely rocking the shorts.
