CATC V7.8 is finally here! Probably took about a week too long on the BeatEmUp mode but I hope you guys had fun with that mode.
See previous post for a summary of v7.8 features.
In addition to the things mentioned in that post, I added a few more things.
The first is that the accessory equip slot are level locked. This is because previously, level 1 character got a bit too strong once you fully equip them. So now you unlock new slots as the characters gain level, and make the character power curve more eventually distributed across levels.

Character's basic action is now also affected by which weapon they are equipping. So for example, equipping a weapon will change the "Basic Action" from a melee attack to a ranged one.
The Basic Action now also scales with the 2 highest stats that character processes, so it should no longer lag behind other options. 2 highest stats (instead of using the highest) is to allow for more build variety rather than being forced into one stat.
Moreover, I decided to have a change in design philosophy regarding the Basic Actions. Originally, Basic Actions were meant as a option as last resort and players were expected to use other cards before considering the Basic Actions. Now, I decided that Basic Actions should be competitive, with other cards being supplemental options to Basic Actions rather than replacements.
The motivation behind this change is I want to simplify the card picking process. I realize that given the nature of the game, players probably don't want to look through cards in their hand all the time. Sometimes players just want to "Auto Attack." So the decision process change to "I can attack and here is a couple of other options I can do" instead of "having to consider all this possible cards and effects I can do."
As a start, the starting deck of each character is reduced in size and cards will be tweaked to adhere to this new philosophy when I get the chance to do so in the future.
Finally, when you start the new version, you will only see 3 options:

They are NOT removed, but rather they are now unlocked as you progress through the story and/or met certain criteria. It *should* work on existing saves too but here is a list of requirements for each unlock in case something goes wrong:
