The first half was frustrating. I'm not French, I don't have a firm opinion one way or the other on the Le Pen/RN sentence thing, but seeing a guy like Melenchon taking the other side suggests to me the question deserves engagement that's more serious & respectful than just chuckling to each other about how obvious it all is. Even if you're going to disagree. “And where did that get you?” is a level of derision such that you'd expect LFI/NFP was a basement reading group of a half dozen 80 year old Trotskyists rather than the current holders of a plurality of Assembly seats

And I would think has a lower theft rate as you're forced to exit via the checkout and everything is scanned by a real person instead of the oops all bananas again machine. Also, I can't being the only one feeling that since every store treats you like a criminal now you might as well just lift the items. You'll get hassled regardless so you may as well be compensated.
