In Britain it's "nothing will ever get better" both in the sense that "life around here has always been like this" and "we can't do that policy, money doesn't grow on trees." In the US it is "everything is already great." We are the best country in the world and actually have an amazing healthcare system. Obviously trumpism has a much more negative valence but I do think there is a core of "once we defeat woke the natural amazingness of America will reassert itself. I might be just talking nonsense though, just a thought that's been rolling around in my head recently.
