This release is overdue, and I'd like to thank you all for your patients with me on this. Coceter Chronicles v.11 is a large overhaul to the current story and scenes. This isn't my typical Dev Update post, in fact there is no Dev Update post this week. Why you might ask...
Because I'm looking to release version .08 this week. I'm shooting for Wednesday, June 7th, or Thursday, June 8th. All the renders are done and I only need to set the scenes in game and make sure they are working as intended.
I'm being on the safe side with Wednesday or Thursday in case I have to do a last minute re-render of a slide or two.

So what am I working on... Well v.08 of course. This next update will finally introduce the much requested Scene Replay ability. I toyed around with several options for this and in the end I've decided to implement it via any bed that Tabitha has access to sleep/rest in.

One of the problems with making a game using RPGMaker is often times various changes make On Going Saves incompatible. This problem occured when working on a new UI layout for v.07 when I had to change several variables for the Journal and Story Options.
I didn't want to tell you folks that you'd have to restart (yet agian) so I've put in a system that will update Current Saves to use new systems as I include them.

First I'd like to apologize on the lack of dev news, I've been very sick for the last couple weeks. Did you guys know a tooth infection can travel to your heart, cause I didn't and found out the hard way.

Posting this Dev update early as I'm heading out of town for a few days. Here is what I've been working on and the reason the last game update had so much cut from it and was rather... mediocre.

I've begun working on making the scenes a bit more interactive. Give you the player control over the action in a way. The above image doesn't quiet show off what I have in mind, but it does give an idea.
Essentially at any time during an animation you'll be able to speed it up, slow it down, and even change perspective to Tabitha's eyes or in some scenes change the position on the fly.

I'm going to be doing something a little different with the next update, which is nearly ready for release, the rendering process is about 50% finished.
What I'm going to attempt doing is releasing two versions. One for Patrons and one for the Public. The Patron version will include an additional scene and a special quest line that will lead to a different sort of reward from the usual in-game scene.

This update isn't as big as the last one, mostly due to the amount of Map work needed in preparation for Chapter 2. But also because I'm revising the story and scenes a bit, to allow for more growth of Tabitha as a character. Expect Chapter 1 to grow a little larger in the next release.

The Java version I've been working on is nearly done. The framework is in place and all that's left is to render a few needed backdrops and rewrite the events and scenes.
You may notice Tabitha has a few extra statistics now. The new version will have daily task and chores that Tabitha can do to increase these stats and open up new options in the story. For example she'll be able to Workout in her bedroom or read a book in the study.

I've begun the rendering process for the next update. Pretty happy with the upcoming scenes, especially one between Tabitha and Yusara that turned out great. After reworking a few textures, I've created a few new backdrops and renovated the Castle Bath area. Yusara and Sage have both had makeovers as well with their textures being redone.
