2024-12-22 17:02:27 +0000 UTCI do think AI is accelerating the epistemological crisis, now in addition to the usual questions of what is true, and who is saying what, and why, you have to first ask if it's even from a real human and worth investigating. And the only way to determine that is to take more time examining it. Worse since the cost to contribute to the information system has fallen from has to persuade a publisher to get a book deal to burn a forest with chatGPT it's absolutely polluting all our information systems. The question of narrative in video games is one that came up in conversation recently, but our conclusion was that narrative is being abandoned in favor of micro transactions in gaming and it doesn't seem like the investor class really wants to change that. So the man has a point about how to make video games better, but is also the in group of people making the industry worse. Relatedly can we stop pretending using AI makes you creative? Unless you're using it create something that just wasn't possible before. Actually being creative is hard and takes human perception and introspection, the tools are only half the problem. Maybe I'm over reaching on the last one but here it seems like AI is being marketing to people who wish they were creative but are just dull human beings. Ah, it's all just management isn't it.

The landing lights are designed to shine forwards so the pilots can see the runway even when pitched up, and they are EXTREMELY bright. From a perspective in-front of the plane, it's going to look like the lights aren't moving because they are directly approaching you; they're so bright most people can't tolerate staring into them long enough to catch that they appear to move further apart as the plane gets closer.

My suspicion is that the drone happy "But muh freedum!" crowd (who have been hyper-pissed that there are a lot of places they cannot legally fly their drones -like around airports, military bases, etc) are looking forward to the incoming admin, and not being harassed by the FAA, and making an early start of it.
