Yeah, that Stockwell cabinet actually showed up in the lobby of my apartment building around January. Weird thing, it's a glass cabinet, unlocked, just that, literally an IKEA cabinet with an always-on webcam, and some bluetooth whatnot. And I was thinking what a fucking lazy vending machine for sheepish white people! If it had at least beer or cigarettes in it, but no obviously they can only openly show things that nobody wants to steal. Like a comb. Bottle of Vitamin water. Like a hotel fridge in large, but without the cooling part of course. Oh, and the automatic adapting to community aspect - well, there' no fucking suggestion box, so that's all bullshit, they will never carry beer, for example. In a strange way it's the perfect micro picture of... well, everything. Economy "vote with your dollar", democracy "protest if you like", but it's all really just the right to veto whatever idea has been put on the shelf already. No channel for actual constructive criticism, because honestly we don't really give a fuck.

My tablet moved on to that programme about the Cameron years without me noticing after Politics Dead and so I felt like I had been watching a really terrifying horror film - hearing from you has made everything nice again. I hope you and your wife had a lovely time on your birthday. I'm actually familiar with Boonta Vista and I'll make more effort to include it in my podcast binges in future.
