These are HDR shots, so I take two exposures for each, one with the moon exposed properly, and one with the moon overexposed to reveal the clouds they illuminate. It could be captured in a single exposure with some editing as well, but that tends to make the image much noisier.

Wow, was the moon really that bright or did you brighten everything up a bit during editing?
